  4.  @BootBizarre  , in every system people die due to shortcomings in a healthcare system. Our system does many things very well such as higher survival rates in advanced illnesses for example. "We have tens of thousands of people who die every year due to a lack of healthcare. " Amenable mortality is an issue every system has to face. Also, it is very hard to accurately measure how many actually die. That is why it is very debatable if it is a problem or not. There are many arguments against those numbers.

The issue is that very few are able to become one due to talent or desire. This idea that a national healthcare system would produce more doctors is simply false. If anything it will produce less.

Someone like Bernie wants a permanent program to "fix" something that may or may not be a problem to begin with.
