Bernie's plan simply won't work mathematically. Even at that how is he going to address the problem of our lack of professor, lack of classrooms, lack of dorms, lack of computers in libraries, and overall lack a of resources? He never addresses that. How is he going to pay for the several people currently with loans that will demand to have their loans paid off now. If Bernie makes college "free" then I personally will demand to have my loans paid off. Our current student loan debt is 1.2 trillion dollars, now what is our national budget?

What Kyle is suggesting won't work. If you go that extreme the other side will as well and get nothing passed. If healthcare would have been presented as universal healthcare then there would have been no reform. With Bernie's plan for college it will lead to nothing. It will be immediately shot down and that is it.

+Jagger 208 Bernie proposes $70 billion a year. By taking the average tuition cost for public universities and enrollment totals it will cost over $70 billion. That is not including the increases enrollment, the need for more TAs and classrooms which raises cost, and people like me that will demand that my current loan gets paid for. Student loan debt is over $1.2 trillion.

+Megarational 1. It still won't mathematically work. By Bernie's own numbers he will still fall short, that is without including the $1.2 trillion debt that people will be demand gets paid off. I will demand that my student loan gets paid off. Also in other countries they pay with an inferior system. 2. It depends on what type of education. Having more art and business majors is not a success. I agree that we need to push for wealth creation, but graduating more students with worthless degrees is not the answer. Higher education does not mean high income. The US has the best university system in the world for a reason.
