Resumes are a way to weed people out. If you worked at one particular place for a long time that shows you are willing to stay at a job for a long time. You are consistent. If you have a college degree it shows you have the ability to learn, especially depending on the degree. You can put other activities as well. That shows you are involved. It is a way to sell yourself and then get to the next step of talking to the person. Kyle is self employed and, I assume, doesn't hire many people. Thus he has no experience in this. That is why he feel resumes are bullshit.
