In Colorado close to 80% said not to universal healthcare. When people see the tax increases they vote against it.

Jaseeka, did you even read that study? I doubt it. That $32.6 trillion was a conservative estimate and chances are the cost would be much higher. They made assumptions such as hospitals and doctors willing to take less money and that prices will not go up despite the forcible increase in demand with no increase in supply. Also, that dollar value was just for public spending, not private. As for Bezos, it is true. It is also why Mark Zuckerberg earned only $1 a year at one point and Warren Buffet earns $100,000 a year. They earn most of their wealth through stocks in their companies which is not income. I love how you call me a troll when you cannot read a simple study and have no clue how those wealthy individuals actually obtain their wealth.

SickRedApple, if the Koch brothers were to release a study that showed universal healthcare would have cost more than the ultra left would have nitpicked the study finding excuses in why it is not true. Either way the ultra left is going to cherry pick they study to develop their own conclusion. Ultra leftists are not going to be honest. In the way they released the study even with a conservative estimate and assumptions that produces a lower number they still get a high dollar amount. And it is just for public care, not private. Fact is that universal healthcare will cost more. Increasing demand never decreases prices, period. Your point on the lump is easily countered by people who simply refuse to take care of themselves and receive unnecessary care. Most preventative care can be done simply through a healthier lifestyle.

When people see the tax increases they change their mind. Voting against right to work does not attack someone's wallet. Universal healthcare does. That is the major difference.

Steve Davis, CA is struggling. The places that are doing well are the tech areas where cost of living is so high no one can afford to live there. In San Francisco the school district is doing poorly because they cannot afford to hire teachers to live there and ones that do live there travel over 4 hours a day.

Praxis, it doesn't cost less.
1
Praxis, there isn't any legit study that shows that. Red states have lower cost of living. CA is blue and has the highest poverty rate in the US.

CA is a major welfare state and has high cost of living and the highest poverty rate along with the lowest literacy rate. The left wing positions offers no real solutions.

Thomas Urech, you are wrong. They don't get the benefits from the unions. That means they don't get protection if they are fired for questionable reasons. That is where unions have most of their power.
1
TheMrParagon, if you don't join a union you don't get the benefits.

The state with the lowest literacy rate is CA. But don't let facts get in the way of your firmly held, religious like belief.

Republicans support unions, they are just against crony unionism. A reason why the min. wage exist is because of unions. It is a negotiating tool for wages. Unions are some of the top donors in elections. That is a problem.
