Three, it is the one, and only federal government program that has a history of being successful. Four, the way it is designed is that it is composed of government workers who are very discipline that actually take their work seriously. Our public school teachers, despite being only locally funded, bitch about having to grade papers on weekends. Unless you want to hold our doctors to be highly accountable if they mess up, and train them thoroughly, which isn't possible, federal government run healthcare won't work.

  4. I don't get social security or medicare or medicaid. So yes, cutting it will give me more money. So I agree with Christie, I should watch my wallet with democrats. A flat tax it not a tax increase on the middle class. If someone can explain how that would be great, but I won't hold my breath on it. The "free stuff" is true as well. Democrats don't want the middle class or poor to pay taxes. They want the rich to pay the taxes and make "free stuff" for everyone else. And when we run out of money more and more people will pay taxes. But in the end the left don't want anyone to pay taxes except the rich. And as far as military spending, we are like 4th in military spending in the country when you consider percent GDP.

Healthcare just doesn't exist, it has to be created. With universal healthcare you may get lower prices, but you get lower quality of care. You are making this false assumption the healthcare is already there when it isn't.

Who sets the price for that? And who determines who gets an organ? Right there you have a problem. In the UK they are lacking resources and thus have longer wait times and lower quality. 2. In some cases yes. There are other factors involved as well. 3. Who are the most vulnerable groups? Who determines that? It seems like the middle class is paying double when they can't afford to. They are not protected in that case. 4. A waiting list? So me, who is pursuing my PhD and working hard and am putting myself in a position to be successful has to wait behind a person who refuses to better themselves? How is that democratic? That is literally putting a gun to my head and telling me to pay up and wait my turn. That is the exact opposite of democratic. "Many countries have public health care systems that have better results than the US in many areas." That can easily be argued against.

  9. +WoahDerBUD That will hurt the middle class. Single payer will be inferior to the private sector. The poor won't be able to afford it so they at least get something in single payer. The rich get the private sector. But the middle class gets screwed. They can't afford the private option because they can't afford to pay for both the private and public option. They are not stuck with an inferior system. Why should I, who is working to become middle class? Be held back?
