SkyTech 1. Hard to do without pissing people off. I have no problem with it, but many others will. 2. The reality is the issue they are protesting is not a major problem. That is why no one cares.
3
1. They are paid to entertain us, not get political 2. They protested and got our attention, so they need to explain what they are protesting, what is their solution and have a discussion. They can't, so they need to stop protesting.
2
The issues are 1. People want football to be entertained, not get political. There were complaints about Tim Tebow's anti-abortion ad 2. They got our attention, now they need to have an intelligent discussion about the issue they are protesting. They haven't, so it is time to stop protesting.
2
NFL players are easily expendable and replaceable. If these players don't want to play the NFL will find others that will. The fact is these players need the NFL.
2
Religion is oppressive, I complain when any celebrity gets involved in politics when I am looking to be entertained. I don't care if a celebrity is politically involved, just don't do it during their job. In this case, don't do it during a game.
1
Elijah, I don't see any of them having an intelligent discussion. I don't see Kaepernick having a discussion with those on the right about this issue. I don't see them giving facts and arguments. That is what bothers me. They got our attention, not have a discussion on this issue. Go on a right wing source and have a discussion, a civil one. They aren't. At that point they are just crying in my opinion.

anticorncob6 1. I agree, the national athem is political. But it has been going on for years and is now tradition. Hard to change tradition. 2. I am not saying it should be. 3. I am upset over the lack of intelligence that is happening. Why are they not explaining their reasoning for kneeling? Why are they not pushing for a civil discussion on this issue? 4. No I don't
1
IceXnk6, we solve these issues by having a discussion. A major problem we have right now is that the left refuses to discuss anything. They cry about problems we have but when the political right gives a legit counter argument the left cries foul, or calls them a racist, bigot, or feels they are a bad person and needs to be punished. They got our attention, so let us have a discussion. I don't see them pushing for that. Crying foul all the time gets people pissed off. That is why Trump won because the political left has no desire to actually discussion issues.
1
anticorncob6, I feel they need to find a better way to get their message across and have a discussion with others on the issue. This has been going on for almost a year and I don't see any of these players looking to discuss this issue.
1
Jonny Fyre, I have not seen him give an intelligent explanation. I am talking about with facts, data and evidence.
1
Alex VonBerg, I don't watch the national anthem, so it doesn't matter to me. The fact that this gets attention does tarnish the game a bit.
1
Jonny Fyre, where is the discussion taking place?
1
Kim K, how severe is police brutality? I oppose it but the political left is making it sound like it is a major issue. Give me an in depth analysis of how bad it is. Right now none of these players are doing that.
1
wiccangirl, that case involved the Board of Education which is a government entity. That is the major difference.
1
wiccangirl, the government does run the schools.
1
Jaybird J, if they are protesting police brutality then they need to give data and evidence of it being a major issue. Until they do I cannot take them serious. It is the as the women march when they were asked what rights Trump was going to take away from women and they cannot name any.
1
Also, they can go on many right wing shows and discuss their point if they want. I don't see them doing that.
1
Lawrence Taylor, prove to me that people are being arrested just for being black. And give me an in depth analysis of how critical the situation is.
1
I don't see any intelligent discussion. I see a lot of playing the victim. The issue of cops shooting unarmed black people have been investigated and it is essentially a non-issue.
1
MrPCT007, him kneeling brought attention to himself. At that point he needs to have a discussion. The fact he hasn't makes what he is doing irrelevant.
1
nayahri, the talent level in the NFL is so condense that the third stringers are just as talented as the starters.
1
The Man of Tea, NFL players are easily replaceable.
1
wiccangirl, that case involved the Board of Education which is government.
1
This is just another example of those on the left crying but have no real way how to have a discussion on the issues. Why aren't these players looking to discuss the issue they are protesting?
