This is why the founding fathers wanted a limited federal government and stronger local government. I like my representatives from my state for the most part but despise Nancy Pelosi and Bernie Sanders even though I can't vote for them. I bet you feel the same for Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell. Also Templargod47 is right that most people don't follow politics, that is why there were strict limitations on what they can do. There is a desire to have government, but you we must keep it as local as possible to ensure it remains the servants and not the masters. The more local government is the more you are able to see if it is actually working for the people.

The main reason is because this is a retirement party for him. He is a career politician and he is retiring with a bang.
