Local governments work better. The beauty is that when they do fail the problem is contained in that area. Imagine a problem like what is going on in Flint being nation wide? Yes, Flint has problems, but that is their problem. You expand it to the federal level we are all screwed.

If you want to end corruption and money in politics then we have to follow the constitution. Have strict limitations on the federal government and establish state rights. The more local government is the more control of government the people have.

You can fix the system by following the constitution. That places limits on the federal government. We do not need to change anything, just follow the rules in place.

Jersey Dragon At the local and state level corruption is alleviated by the fact that people can see the direct influence of government. I am not saying it won't exist, I am saying that if it does the citizens can control it much easier. And if not they can move and remain US citizens. There really isn't that many different interpretations of the constitution. It is black and white. One trying to interpret differently are pulling wool over people's eyes.

SpeakerWiggin49 At the local level corruption is not as big as a deal as the people have more control of the government.

14Schofield Not really. In my area our infrastructure is fine. It varies by location and it is up to those local governments to deal with it.

14Schofield I can because why should I worry about what goes on in other states? I do not vote there nor do I pay taxes. That is their issue. We had that problem in my area I would not expect other states to pay for it.

14Schofield I agree that we all belong in the same country, thus we all fund for the same military designed to protect our rights and from foreign nations. At the same time what you do in your own state is your own business. I live in the same apartment complex as my neighbors, but if one is doing very poorly I am not going to hurt myself to help them. It is checks and balances. I do not support dragging an entire country down just because one city cannot run their water system correctly.
