For a few reasons 1. Klan rallies and white supremacists gatherings are very rare 2. Concerts, movies theaters and schools are places where people are closely together 3. Those areas are gun free zones where a Klan rally most likely have armed individuals

What do you think we should do to alleviate gun violence?

As tragic as this event is you should not use it to stir emotions to push an agenda. Kyle does not have an argument against the gun issue so he uses emotions. He is not a good person in doing what he does.

Those nations have less crime in generals. For example, if you remove just gun murders from the US the US will still have a higher murder rate than those nations. So at that point you have to be honest the issue is more than just guns.

dalec305, saying they are "reasonable" is not true as there are many arguments against them. To list a few off of the top of my head 1. Magazine limits: Magazines are there to offer quick reloading. If you limit the size they will just carry more. Also, what will be the limit? The Va Tech shooter had a 10 round one and a 15 round one and killed over 30 people. 2. Psych exam: Kyle, if I recall, did not call it a psych exam but he said if there is a question if someone could do a shooting you ban them from a gun. How do you determine that? What is the standard? That can lead to almost anyone being banned from owning a gun. 3. Background checks: They exist. The ones that don't are for private sales. Unless you create a gun registry you can't enforce it. I can come up with more but reality is there are strong arguments against what Kyle says. Also, we should push to lower crime, not ban the object.

Adarsh lal 1. If you ban semi autos and autos you set the standard for a complete gun ban. 2. Psych exams are easy to trick and the issue with that is that any red flag can lead to a gun ban. We don't punish people until they actually commit a crime. 3. It is easy to change the ID on a gun Different cultures. If you remove all gun murders from the US the US will still have a higher murder rate than many of those nations. We are just a more violent nation.

Kali, my solution is to find a way to lower crime all together. That can be done by improving the economy, improving our education system, and creating a society that is filled with less hate. No need to attack the gun when you should be trying to help the person.
3
You have the right to pursue happiness which gives you the right to fish, smoke and drive. Also, the federal military cannot attack citizens without consent of the governor of that state. If they did then they are attacking the state which creates a civil war dividing our military. In reality it is citizens fighting local government.

cptmiller132, the kid never commit any crime thus you cannot strip him of his rights. So no, with gun reform he still would have been able to legally buy a handgun.

JxSparrow, no.

Andrew, watch Matt Christiansen's video on the topic. He has a strong argument.

Kathy, many on the left have pushed for it. Even Kyle is doing it here. Asking for tests of some kind to find a "potential" threat is taking guns away. Any red flag will prevent people from owning guns. You will be taking guns away from people without due process when they have not committed any crimes.

Matthew, to start, saying gun reform works "everywhere" is not true. Other nations simply are less violent. If you remove all gun murders from the US the US still has a higher murder rate than a lot of nations. We are simply a more violent nations. Next, on mental health issues, that is very complex. We don't punish people until they have committed an actual crime. That is a part of our freedom. If you want to punish people who have a mental health issue than you are going to have to punish a lot of people who will never harm anyone. I, on the records, have a mental health issue. I had a serious conversation with my psychologist and psychiatrist about my guns and it was determined by them that I am not a threat and can still own them. The law was not required and the conversation did not go beyond them. But according to you I should not own them even though you have no clue about my conditions, my history, and my intent. You just will see that I have a history of a mental illness. We have freedoms on this country and at times it comes at a cost. What happened was tragic but we have to think logically here. You want to punish people who will do zero harm to others because of one tragic event. That is not how we should act in this nation. What happened was bad, but in my opinion your ideas are worse.

There weren't any mass shootings prior to that gun "ban" either. Gun crime was dropping prior to the gun "ban" as well.

Plenty of research will argue against new gun laws.
1
S J., taking guns away does not change the fact that people are violent.

DireAvenger001, when emotions go up logic and reasoning go down. Also, you are correct, people end up demonizing the other side. We saw that after the high school shooting where people were saying the NRA has blood on their hands. Reality is that gun right supporters like me want to lower gun crime, and crime in general, we just have different ideas. Equating us to children murderers adds nothing to the argument.
