Withtheseprovisions , saying other nations do it is a poor argument. They established those programs when they were developed. We are developed and radically changing our current programs will cause major damage to our nation.

And pointing to polls of his policies is flawed for two reasons, one, they are vague questions on complex issues being asked to non experts. For example, while a M4A system may be popular on the surface, when you take those same people being polled and give them an advanced education on healthcare, tell them that taxes will go up, accessibility and quality will drop, and they will lose their current plan, chances are support will drop. The second issue is that polls don't show how passionate people are on the issue. They may support it in a poll but not in the voting booth. As for his plans, they are not detailed. Take allowing prisoners to vote. Say someone from CA is placed in Leavenworth in KS. When they vote do they vote as a citizen of CA or as a citizen of KS? Take tuition free college, how will he handle the NCAA? How will he handle enrollment? Say everyone in AZ wants to attend ASU? Cost is no longer a factor so people may do that. With eliminating student loan debt how will he handle the law suits of those who paid off their loans? With M4A at what point will he cap healthcare to keep cost low?

Withtheseprovisions , quality will not be the same. We spend the most because we offer the most advanced care and excel in advanced treatment. Read the book "In Excellent Health" by prof. Scott Atlas, he outlines how the US is superior in offering advanced care in a timely manner and treatment of advanced illnesses. We offer more CT scans and MRIs compared to other nations. Other nations keep cost low because they cap how much care you can receive. So no, quality will not be the same. You can't cut healthcare spending by 40% and expect to get the same product.

@gusmarin6031 , or framed in an honest way. That is the problem with Bernie, he isn't honest. He isn't giving the full story. Maybe M4A may be the best, but it will have drawbacks. 1. Switching of what? 2. Resources are limited, something has to give. 3. Why? If a person pays off their loans and than the government pays the loans of everyone else those who paid off their loans will demand their money back. I already know plenty of people who will sue the government if they do loan forgiveness.
