@Schmidty1 , the problem with the left is this, where is your stopping point? With gun right supporters the stopping point is the Constitution. Where is yours? When a shooting happens you push for more gun laws? Let us say a law is passed and another shooting happens? Do you push for more? Eventually you go down to a gun ban. The reason why so many push to ban the AR 15 is because if it were to be banned than you now open legal doorways to ban other guns.

@firespinnr , I don't remember that thread but I never once said that no one dies due to lack of insurance. I said the numbers are hard to obtain as other factors are at play.
2
@firespinnr , I debate a lot of people here. Chances are you are misrepresenting what I am saying. I am more than willing to debate again and I have more sources to support my case. I don't back down from a challenge.

This is purely a PR stunt. Those who buy guns beyond hunting will go to a gun store to begin with. Also, their approach is catering to useful idiots. A 7.62X51 is used in the military which is very similar (to basically being the same) to the .308 which is used for hunting.
2
@zidneya , there are arguments against that. https://fee.org/articles/the-myth-that-the-us-leads-the-world-in-mass-shootings/
2
@zidneya , if I recall the guy carrying the gun the time I saw it was tatted up and it was in a sketch part of town. I actually felt safer knowing he was there with a gun. A gun doesn't bother me.

So they are making the stores more dangerous. And saying "military style guns" is flawed. A 30-06 is used in the military and also used for deer hunting. And no, these shootings are not happening all the time.
1
True. Those who buy guns beyond hunting go to gun shows or gun stores to begin with. Also, idiots who are praising this really don't know better. Walmart said they will sell guns and ammo for hunting but not for "military style guns". The military uses a 7.62x51 round which is, for all intents and purposes, the same as a .308 used for hunting and the rounds can be mixed.

@Schmidty1 , I am the one who usually gives data and have logic. But answer this, at what point are there enough gun laws? You said you don't support a ban, so where is your stopping point?
1
@Schmidty1 , you refuse to engage with me because you know you will get burned.
1
@Schmidty1 , when have I been 100% objectively wrong on an issue? If I am than I am willing to change.
1
@firespinnr , uh, I agreed there is a certain number of people who die due to lack of insurance. The issue is how much as you can't get an accurate number on it as there are many variables at play.
1
@firespinnr , what government data exists that shows how many people die due to lack of insurance? And data is what it is, raw. There are many factors attached to them.
1
We already have background checks.
1
@tadferd4340 , the only place we don't have one is in private sales which is impossible to do unless you create a gun registry.
1
@tadferd4340 , when I buy milk I walk in the store and buy it. To buy a gun, unless it is through a private seller, you need a background check.

Australia never had a gun problem to begin with.
1
@zidneya , I was in a gas station the other day. The guy in front of me had a gun. He paid for his things and went on his way. I did the same. Zero panic.
1
@justinlopez4024 , exactly. Zidneya's situation of someone with a gun at the ATM causing panic is short sited. I great up in a place where high school kids went hunting in the morning and came to school with a gun in their truck window. When you are around guns often you don't get scared of them.
1
@zidneya , uh, I look at all data. I bet I can use data you give me, support it, and turn it against you.
