This is a reminder that Cruz destroyed Bernie in their debate.

The CFPB was unnecessary when we already had the Bureau of Consumer Protection.

The problem with the CPFB was that we already had the Bureau of Consumer Protection. This is exactly what people are talking about when they talk about more regulation. An entire agency was created that wasn't necessary when one already existed.
1
The FTC exists already making the CFPB pointless. All the CFPB did was just create another agency which means more bureaucracy and more waste of tax dollars.

How? We have not recovered from the last one because of programs like these that are being stripped away. We already had the Bureau of Consumer Protection. What happened was more regulations on top of what we have now. This is exactly what people meant by increasing regulations.

Kyle, where was Cruz lying? Kyle says that "if you do a little research" but never gives any research. Also, 45,000 people is minute in the US with 320+ million people in the US. That is essentially noise. There around around 30,000 people that die every year in car accidents. You can throw around numbers all you want but with no perspective or comparison the numbers mean nothing.

Except we don't have a free market system when it comes to healthcare.
1
For profit does not equal free market. We have a for profit system with many government barriers in the way which jacks up the price.
1
Economic growth has been stagnate since the creation of these acts. We already had the Bureau of Consumer Protection. This is what people mean by added regulations. We are just adding more on top of what we already have.

"45,000 americans die a year because they can't afford medical care" 1.3 million die every year in car accidents. When put in perspective that 45,000 is minute and basically is noise.

You are right on that number, my mistake. But still, 45,000 is minute in a country of 320+ million people. I am no saying we shouldn't push to improve our current healthcare system, but when you just spit out a number with no perspective than you really don't have an argument. With that 45,000 people correlation does not equal causation. There are other factors as play. And when you are talking about around 0.01% of the US population you can't exactly determine what factor was in play. Was it because they lack access to healthcare or was it more of a fact that they were unhealthy to begin with? In all, your argument is weak.

Phillip, I will admit I was wrong on my number. But 45,000 people is around 0.01% of the population. With such a minute amount of people involved you can't clearly place the reasoning for them dying. Was it because of lack of access to healthcare or was it because they were unhealthy to begin with? These people are poor and poor people are usually unhealthy to begin with.
