  2. More machines means more wealth at a lower price. That isn't a bad things. If we get to a time where wealth is free then that is great. Also, Hawking is a physicist, doesn't mean he is smart in any other fields. The massive income inequality we have is because we have inefficiencies in the market because of our progressive taxes, programs like rent control and the min. wage and welfare programs. Universal basic income will make it worse.
