He is not wrong there.

The problem is that you are giving power to the federal government to control your money the way they seem fit.
1
Derek Watts Money in politics is nothing more than a symptom of a disease. That disease is of a federal government with too much power. You want to cure the disease, not the symptom. Limit the powers of the federal government and it will have nothing to sell.
1
inpatwa At the state level you have more control of the government. And if they still won't change you can move and remain a US citizen.

***** Around 70% of fire fighters are volunteer, also the fire department is ran and funded locally. What he is saying is that liberals feel that throwing money at something will somehow magically make it appear. Such as raising taxes and throwing money at college will make it so everyone who wants to can attend. The reality is that we lack TAs, professors, tutors, dorms, classrooms, labs, equipment and other resources and workers at universities. Throwing money at it does not make those things appear. Someone has to produce them and provide those services. Liberals do not understand that. Just like the volunteer fire fighters, someone has to provide that service. It is a perfect comparison. Liberals feel that if you spend tax dollars on something it will appear. They fail to realize that someone has to provide it.
1
***** You don't have a right to someone's services.
1
***** And other nations have just as many problems, so what's your point?
1
***** Other countries also have lower productivity compared to the US. So what's your point? They have problems. They are not that great.
1
***** They have lower productivity which is why the cost of living there is higher. They have several problems in those countries. In reality it is very hard to compare due to major differences in populations, culture, history, economies and so on. We have around 30 states that are larger than Norway. Not really a valid comparison. I am not saying what they do is terrible, I am just saying it not exactly great either.
1
***** Prices are higher, and how much you work is irrelevant. If you hate your job so much that you want to work less than you are a sad person. I work over 40 hours a week and I am fine.
1
***** Give me proof they can afford a 1 bedroom apartment?
1
***** In Oslo a 1 bedroom apartment is over $1000 a month.
1
***** Actually, on average it is around 47 hours a week, and again, that does not tell the whole story. A lot of people work a lot of hours because they enjoy it. Also, only around 5% of workers work multiple jobs, and that rate has been dropping, slightly for years. https://www.bls.gov/opub/mlr/2010/07/art3full.pdf
1
***** Not really. People work over 40 hours a week in the US because a lot of them enjoy their job.
1
***** You should find a job you enjoy. I did so I have no problem working over 40 hours a week. Several people are like that. If you are a person who hate their job so much that you don't want to even work 40 hours a week than you live a very sad life. Also, according to the BLS only around 5% of the nation hold multiple jobs. And very few are even working 60 hours a week. But again, you should enjoy your job. If you don't than you live a sad life.
1
***** http://www.gallup.com/poll/175286/hour-workweek-actually-longer-seven-hours.aspx Read the last paragraph of that. Also, on your link, one factor could be because people want to work more hours but are stuck at a part time job. Again, if you don't like your job than that is your fault.
1
***** If you don't enjoy your job that is not my fault. Find a job you enjoy. Sorry that you picked a miserable life. Others should not have to suffer.
1
***** Don't blame me for people having to work shitty jobs. Work hard to get a better one or be satisfied with what you have. Stop being greedy.
1
***** Asking to be paid above what you are worth is being greedy.
1
***** Wanting to take money from those who earned is when you didn't is being greedy. Why are you so greedy?
1
***** Ok, what?
1
***** Not necessarily. What is larger, 50% of 100 or 10% of 1000?
1
***** A very simple question, what is greater? 50% of 100 or 10% of 1000? My point is that tax rates do not necessarily mean a certain revenue.
1
***** Put it like this, what is higher, 50% of 2 million or 10% of 20 million? When you allow the rich to have their money they can invest it, make it grow, and you can generate more revenue that way.
1
***** So you want to tax that $2 million so it can't be invested and grow to $20 million? I get it. Nobody paid those high taxes in the past. In 1967 there were 155 Americans who earned over $200,000 that paid zero dollars in federal income taxes .
1
You are right, liberals though will scream "but it isn't free, taxes pay for it". They say that while wanting the rich to pay more in taxes. So it free for them, but not for the rich. Oh, and they also complain when those who are rich bribe politicians to change the rules in their favor. In all, liberals are delusional.
1
C Wilson It is. It goes beyond that. Take "free college" for example. We lack professors, TAs, tutors, dorms, classrooms, labs, equipment and other workers and resources. Where do you expect those things come from? Liberals feel we can just raise taxes and throw money at the situation and magically it will all appear. But the reality is that it is more complicated than that.
1
C Wilson Military spending is less than 4% of our GDP. It is not that large.
