I understand why people look towards independent news sources like Kyle and Shapiro, or mainstream news sources like Fox or CNN for information. It is quick and requires little though. So I will tell you honestly, if you refuse to read sources from experts, like books or studies, than don't have a strong opinion, period. I am not saying I am 100% correct, I will never say that. I am simply pointing to you the sources in which I get information from. They are experts in their field. Experts disagree all the time.   47. @firespinnr , how are my sources lacking? You have to give reasons. Raw data is what it is, raw. There are many factors that influence the data. With medical bankruptcies if someone is $1000 in debt and than has a $200 medical bill and goes bankrupt, the medical bill isn't the soul reason why they went bankrupt. I can use data very well which is why I point to peer reviewed journals and why I break down the data given to me as opposed to just looking at raw data.

The money gained by interest is used to fund savings and also to allow for more money to be loaned out. This is referred to at the "inverted pyramid". Medical debt doesn't exist in other nations because they simply offer less care. Other nations have less accessibility to advanced techniques and less care. And yes, eliminating debt will increase the ability of some consumers to spend, but that means more demand and thus massive inflation unless the federal reserve jacks up interest rates which will mean lower wages.

Also, it was over a 10 year period and not all at once which Bernie wants. And it was spread out and not to one particular group. So there are major differences there.
