  1. There is skepticism.  How much of a role is man playing in climate change and is it really bad?  That is a start.  Climate has been changing for over 4 billion years.  Man's time on earth is small.  We can't make asinine decisions on something we know little about.

  2. thebigteacher 1 My undergrad work was a degree in physics and a degree in chemistry  I don't have an MA because I am in the PhD program, I am going straight for my PhD.  We have had climate change discussions as well, I recently had a discussion about alternative energy with a colleague of mine.  It is a complex issue.  If you really had scientists in your family you would know, unless you are surrounded by biologists.

This happens in a lot of issues.  Al Gore made money off of his movie which was the just exact opposite of being a climate change denier (and his house is less environmental friendly than George Bush's).  Michael Moore made millions exploiting tragedies.  Even this guy, Kyle, he makes money being a radical on economic issues that he clearly knows little about.  When money is to be made people will exploit the system in either ways.

CoolHardLogic I agree we should reduce fossil fuel dependency, but like everything else there comes a cost.  I know a way to do it quickly, ban driving.  Our production as a society will go down though.  We are willing to use fossil fuels to drive cars to have increased efficiency.  We should work on reducing our dependency on fossil fuels but we can't destroy our economy in the process.

  5. thebigteacher 1 I am actually pursing my PhD in physical chemistry so I know a lot of scientist, I am around them every day except Saturday when I take my day off.

David Soll And a meteor can come along and end it all very quickly, so what is your point?  Man is nature, we evolved into a way to use the earth's resources to our advantage.  No different then when species die off due to a change in the color of leaves allowing certain species to be more prone to predators.  Changes happen, learn to adjust like every other life form has in the past.

  7. CoolHardLogic Oil just doesn't come from the ground you know, you can get it almost anywhere, it is just more expensive  right now getting it from other methods.

  8. CoolHardLogic I didn't dance around the fact, they are not unlimited, I said that. We will have to go to alternatives but for right now they are the best source of energy we have.

  9. TheKeyser94 Actually Bush said climate change was real.  Also under Bush spending in science research went up.  Republicans like to leave science to the scientist, democrats make it political which hinders progress.
