People in the UK are going blind as the NHS denies eye surgery.

Cuthulhu In the deep , easy. To start it was a small sample size in one city. More studies are needed. Also, the study is looking at how the two races interact with the drugs and their involvement. It doesn't drive home any real racial injustice. So what is your point? Did you even read the study?

@frankpasini4304 , exactly . A problem with M4A supporters is that they are not willing to have the difficult conversations on this issues. One of them is taxes. How do you tell our society that taxes will go up and convince them that they will be better off? Also, universal healthcare systems do have many drawbacks. You have to be willing to have the difficult conversations of death panels, what do to with the very sick, how universal healthcare are allowing people to die by by denying them heart surgery? The far left are delusional and feel they can create a utopia by refusing to have the difficult conversations.

@boggisthecat , uh, the whole reducing funds argument. Ever thought that the money simply is not there? The whole argument against socialism is that it works until you run out of other people's money. Our current medicare system is running out of money and the solution is to raise taxes. How high do you want to raise taxes? Also, is cataract surgery really a lower priority? Maybe. But that is the issue, the far left is not willing to have these discussions. They feel M4A will create this utopia where we can offer high quality healthcare for all. The reality is that something has to give. There is no utopia. Universal healthcare systems are good in providing very basic care and are good are providing care for the poor, but it is at the expense of the very sick. That is why people are going blind in the UK, that is why people die in Canada waiting for heart surgery and so on. In the US the very sick do get care, but it is at the expense of the poor. That is why people in the US do go bankrupt and that is why some do die in the US by not having access. The problem with the far left is that they are not willing to have these difficult conversations. Something has to give. Do we allow very sick people to die, especially if they are old? Or do we allow poor people to die? With the poor typically their bad health is due to their poor lifestyle choices. So there is that argument. . The far left is not going to get M4A if they refuse to have these difficult conversations.

@boggisthecat at that price what quality am i receiving?

@masterofalltrades999 , people die in all nations due to lack of healthcare. No system is perfect.
1
@masterofalltrades999 , what do you base that statement on?

Far leftists don't get a lot of information either. It goes both ways.

Cuthulhu In the deep , poor argument. How many of those black individuals are being charged for other crime and, due to a plea bargain, have their charges reduced to drug offenses? You can't just throw a stat out there without putting it in perspective.

@Derek_The_Magnificent_Bastard , "but people of color are arrested more and do time for crimes that white people usually get let go or get probation" How much of that is because of attitude? Black people are also less likely to graduate high school. Is that because of the system or because of them? Saying "fact" is the very bottom of Bloom's Taxonomy. We need to progress upwards.

@Derek_The_Magnificent_Bastard , that's cute, you ask more for more details. You criticize me for just stopping there. Here "but people of color are arrested more and do time for crimes that white people usually get let go or get probation" Ok, and? You can't just stop there? In my case what is stopping blacks from finishing high school? You can talk about a lower curriculum or under funding, but that does not explain why they drop out?
1
@Derek_The_Magnificent_Bastard , you say no guidance or support. Where is that coming from? Does it come from lack of a father? That is not the fault of the system but the fault of them individually.

In the UK people are going blind as they deny people eye surgery.

So you support foreigners receiving healthcare?
