The issue is that rights are being violated. Government officials are using this virus as an excuse to take away our rights. That is dangerous.

Malic Bk again, you are using the excuse of "safety" to expand the powers of government. That is dangerous. How far are you willing to go with this? 40,000 people die a year in traffic accidents. Should the government ban driving? Only allow public transportation? How far are you willing to go with this government action?

Malic Bk also, it goes beyond religious gatherings. You have some people doing drive in religious gatherings being cited where drive in restaurants are fine. Or people are gathering in Walmart but can't gather in a church. The laws in inconsistent.
2
Forcing people to quarantine violates their rights as well. The reality is that rights exist to limit government and have people have power over government and not the other way around. Government will use the excuse of "safety" to take away your rights. That is dangerous.
2
You can apply that to everything. I just drove to a restaurant. Me driving places people's lives in danger to some degree. So by your standard we need to ban driving.
2
@andyrihn1 there is still a risk though. Even without driving, when I leave my apartment I am putting lives in danger somehow. When I cross the street I am placing lives in danger. I do not need a license to walk the streets but I still place lives in danger. It isn't about having resources but more of we have freedom.
2
@brainstewX that is the point. Around 40,000 die a year in traffic accidents. Banning driving is the guarantee way to make that number to be zero. But we don't do that. The reason why is that banning driving has much more negative results.

@andyrihn1 the deaths of Covid have been overstated. For example, in NY around 30% of the deaths were assumed to be covid with no testing. Also, they include deaths where someone will have other health complications along with covid. Thus someone dying with covid is listed as a covid death even though other issues were the cause. Along with that over half of the covid deaths are in NY and NJ, and 91% of them are 55 and older. Thus the deaths are highly localized. So it is highly questionable if this virus is really deadly.
2
@andyrihn1 as I said, covid is arguably not as deadly as people think. Also, warmer weather is suggested to alleviate the spread, which is a reason why most of the deaths are in the New England states where warmer states have a lower death rate. But, as a whole, we cannot use the excuse of "safety" to give government more power.

@ramblingentertained in many areas you do not have to wear a mask in Walmart.

Right to life means government cannot take away life without due process. General welfare is "promote" general welfare. Please read the constitution.
1
@andyrihn1 it is not conspiracy, it is reality. Even the CDC and NY admitted to it. The deaths are overstated. And again, the deaths are localized in the New England area and with the elderly. So there is a lot of doubt if the virus is really that deadly.
1
@andyrihn1 look at deaths per million. TX is low compared to NY and NJ. There is plenty of evidence to suggest that warmer weather helps. Ground zero for Covid was CA, a state with warmer areas in San Diego and LA. People who are dying are either sick to begin with or old. They are people with high risk of death to begin with. You are living a life of fear which is sad really. Go out, enjoy life. I am. I am still going to work, I am still going out in public. Things are fine.
1
@Anathema Nu it is arguable that when you took action on the virus did not matter. A Harvard professor looked into it and found little to no correlation between death rate and time of action. And there is evidence that warmer weather will help. USC did a study where they took blood samples of random individuals in the LA area and found out more people than expected were exposed to the virus. Nothing bad happen suggesting that one, it is not that deadly, and two, LA is a warm area to begin with. Go ahead and provide sources. And you are living in fear. I am leaving my apartment everyday, I feel fine. Politicians and the media, at this point, is using this virus to scare people into submission. While millions suffer Pelosi is showing off her ice cream in her $24,000 freezer.
1
@JanglesPrime999 a lot of those death are overstated. For example, around 30% of deaths listed in NY are "assumed" despite no testing. over 90% of the deaths are either old or sick to begin with. The amount of people who get the virus and are healthy and die is very minute. New research is coming out that it is no deadlier than the flu. That is research from USC and a German researcher where Science has an article on it .
1
@andyrihn1 yes there is little correlation. Read the article in Archive today entitled "Let’s Visualize State-by-State Shutdown Effectiveness on COVID-19" On warmer weather read the Livescience article entitled "Could the summer bring an end to COVID-19?" Pelosi's fridge shows she needs to be in DC and write up a relief bill. While millions suffer she is enjoying life. Politicians are scaring people into submission. More evidence is coming suggesting that the virus is less deadly than expected. Politicians are benefiting as they are using this to expand government power. That is dangerous.
