Different situation. This is a temporary situation during a unique and unplanned situation. This is not a permanent program. Please learn the difference.

charmander charmander they are using a pandemic now to push their far left ideas. Ironically a lot of European nations with universal healthcare are doing worse than us.

@matheusgomes9 this is a temporary thing. The far left wants to make it permanent. That is the difference.

Chris Behne most "socialistic programs" are paid for and ran locally. Federal ones are a mess and are permanent such as SS and Medicare. I see no changes there any time soon. The point still stands I make. We are in an unique situation where people are, by law, being forced out of work and thus the government steps in for temporary relief until the economy gets rolling again.

Not really. He is doing what it right in a temporary situation.

Not it won't. Using a temporary situation to develop permanent government power is never good.

@jman75234 Spain, UK, France, Sweden just to name a few.

@dylananderson6358 it is true. France, Spain, UK, Sweden are a few doing worse than the US. Look at deaths per million, the US is beating them.

@matheusgomes9 more complex than that.

@seriesjunkie0074 different situation. This is a temporary program. You can't compare this to permanent programs the far left wants.

Chris Behne Medicare is running out of money. It is also highly subsidized by private insurance in that it pays 40% less and it also pays for people who usually receive the most care, the elderly. Thus private insurance from other consumers pick up the tab. That is why healthcare is so expensive in this nation. Also, the elderly use it because they are forced to.

@whatsup9260 what do you mean?
1
c B it is true they are forced on it. When you receive Medicare you cannot have a private plan. And yes, it is running out of money. The government cannot just print money, and the Federal Reserve controls the money supply, not the government.

This is temporary. This is a correct move during an unusual issue. However, this is a unique and temporary issue.
