  2. K Dawg, most of the progressive policies they can't run on anymore. Women, gay, minorities and all people have the exact same rights as everyone else. So they can't run on that anymore. Racism is a non-issue, so they can't run on that anymore. They try to making a lot of things out to be race related even though it isn't. Most people accept climate change, the right just feels it isn't a threat. So they can't call the right anti-science anymore. It comes down to many on the right have become moderates. On social issues they have become moderates and people have progressed. And the left's economic policies suck. They have nothing else to run on so they just divide the country now.
