Bill Maher is nothing more than someone who lives in his LA bubble. He cannot connect with the common man.

One can easily argue that the left lives on fear. If you don't vote for democrats you will lose healthcare. If you don't vote left rich people will take over. If you don't vote for Bernie you will be poor. At the very core the political left bases their idea on emotions and the political right bases their ideas on facts and reasoning.

Trump is not a racist. That is one reason why Trump won. You continue to call Trump a racist and cry racism when none exist to where people tune you out.
6
"His signature policy proposal was racist as fuck. " Such as? The wall is immigration reform, nothing racist about that. Every country has immigration laws.
2
"A recent poll was taken and 57% of those polled believe Trump is a racist" Not proof. Opinion does not mean fact. Just glancing at your first link I can see a lot of reaches. Calling Obama a "terrible student" is not racist. Questioning if a judge is bias or not is not racist and is normal. Seriously, I am still waiting. You are calling me ignorant. I am white. I guess you are racist towards white people by your standard.
2
Shaun, by leftist standards you are.
2
As we have seen those polls ain't worth the Charmin extra-soft you wipe your butt with
2
Mckenzie, you have double standards and facts are not your strong point. The top 10% paid around 70% of federal income taxes. They do pay the majority of taxes.
2
Presidential Vlady, so popular he won......
1
If Bernie was screwed in the primaries why didn't he say anything? He bitched against the "establishment" but then is quiet after he loses. People don't like Bernie, face the facts.
1
Give me examples of how Trump is a racist. I will wait.
1
Shaun Gorzell, exactly. Trump appeared on an episode of Fresh Prince and allowed a black women to live in on of his hotels for free after her family was murder to protect her.
1
"a dude above mentioned his main campaign proposal, which was pretty racist." How as it racist? " The muslim ban " The word "muslim" was not mentioned in the law. During his campaign he acted like a politician in calling it a Muslim ban, but that's politics. The general public is concerned about Muslims as terrorist. The travel ban on countries are on countries with poor governments that have limited information on their people. Countries like Chad are on that list. However, that are exceptions such as college students where there is more background on them. "The entire Obama being born in kenya thing? Kinda racist." Again, how? There were legit points on how little was known about Obama's past. Trump was not the one to originally bring it up. "Thanks for not arguing against his leaning towards class-based discrimination. At least you understand that." Baby steps. That's next. I see nothing to suggest he leans towards class based discrimination. But for right now we are on racism. I am still waiting to see how he is a racist. Words have definition. Look up what "racist" and "racism" mean. Wanting to control immigration is not racist. Questioning one person's birthplace is not racism. If Trump questioned the birthplace of every black person and said they were born in Kenya while doing so then yes, that is racism. But he has not done that.
1
"He's said racist shit during the campaign and since he became president and he has a history of racism." Such as?
1
" If that were actually true then he would want a wall on the northern border. " People are not illegally sneaking to Canada. People are sneaking across the border from Mexico. That is the difference.
1
Robert Smith, calling a country a "shithole" (where there is zero evidence of that being said) is not racist. Again, look up the word "racist" and "racism".
1
Robert, reading the link from the Gaurdian I see, once again, nothing to suggest he is racist. Criticizing Obama is not racism. On the casino incident there is zero evidence. I am waiting. Again, why are you racist towards white people?
1
Sid, I did not even vote for Trump. I questioned him a lot. I wondered why a guy that rich would run for president. I like a lot of what he is doing but I still question him. I am a moderate and look for evidence when people make accusations. Trump was never labeled a racist until he ran for president against Democrats. I find that odd. A guy that powerful and famous was never labeled a racist until now. Hmm.......
1
Shaun Gorzell, one "proof" was him criticizing Obama. So when Trump criticized Bernie was does that make him? This is why no one takes ultra leftists serious and why Trump won.
1
Marlon White, I voted for Gary Johnson
1
leqaf, so The View called him racist when he was on their show in 2012?
1
Sid, that court case was because of the manager of that apartment complex. Trump runs many businesses, he cannot micromanage them. It was not Trump who enforced that policy. Trump took it to court because people pressing charges look for a big payout and the person who is being sued looks to reduce the penalty via a settlement. On that quote, where is the proof? Any recording? Any written evidence by him? Nope, moving on. On the death penalty that does not prove he is racist. Again, look up the definition of "racism" and "racist". In comparison when ultra leftists feel that cops are guilty does that make them racist? There are many shithole countries, race as nothing to do with it. Chad is a shithole country for example. Also, again, where is the evidence he even said that? I am still waiting.
1
leqaf, I addressed Sid's points. By your definition someone calling me ignorant is being racist towards whites. I made that comment as well where no one countered that. If Trump was racist he would have been called out long ago like Don Imus was for his "nappy headed hoes" comment. He wasn't. Why? Because Trump is not a racist.
1
"I'd say generalizing an entire race of people as "rapists and murderers" is an example of prejudice. " He never did that. He said illegal immigrants. I can only assume you are referring to the comment he made about illegal immigrants from Mexicans. He never called an entire race of people "rapists and murderers". If he has I would like to see that quote. " Funny how the management at that company said that the orders to deny black tenants came from higher up." Doesn't matter. No proof Trump gave those orders. If there were there would have been on out of court settlement. Also, there are people between the manager and Trump.
1
Robert, I saw that video. Again, where is the actual proof he called those countries "shitholes"? Also, a country is not a race. If someone called the US a "shithole" are they racist?
1
"No, it's not the same at all. I never said all whites were ignorant or that you're ignorant because you're white." And Trump didn't either. You are calling Trump a racist because he questioned the birthplace of Obama. That is not racist. By your standard it is. So by your standard you are racist towards whites because I am white and you called me ignorant. See how easy it is to move the goal posts like you do? I am still waiting for proof that Trump is a racist.
1
Robert Smith, I saw the links and I commented on them. Apparently questioning where Obama is born equals racism.
1
"Progressives and liberals aren't voting for fear, they're voting out of EMPATHY for their fellow americans" One can argue that is not true. Many on the right, including me feel the best route towards healthcare reform is limited government. The left will scream bloody murder on that saying the government must provide healthcare people will die. That is the difference. " Universal healthcare? Conservatives be like "I'm so scared because of socialism and waiting periods even thou many other successful 1st world countries already has universal healthcare!!!!!" That is a very poor argument. To start, they don't do it better. Read the book "The Business of Health" by Prof. Robert Ohsfeldt and Prof. John Schneider. Next, just because other countries have it does not mean we can establish it. We have 320+ million people with a $16 trillion economy where healthcare is 1/6 of that. Good luck making that radical of a change. "Gun control? Conservatives be like "I'm so scared because there might be a government fascists take over and we will be placed in the gulags and FEMA camps even thou many other 1st world countries already has strict gun control and very little shootings or mass shootings." John Lott released a book showing how other nations have more mass shootings than the US. Also, look at David Hogg and tell me the left is not emotional. How come the issue of gun control comes out only after mass shootings?
1
Zack, the religious right is a dying breed. Also, the right vote mainly on economic issues. However, many are one issue voters.
1
Mckenzie .Latham, he was in the swing states rallying. By your standard no politician can connect with the common man as they are all rich.
1
F S, the tax cuts expire because you need 60 votes in the senate to make them "permanent".
1
"Turnout for the last election was the lowest in decades." 100% false.
1
"Using socialist positions like the best and most affordable healthcare fo everyone, closing tax loopholes and shutting down the corporations and rich people who avoided paying taxes, as well as forcing companies who take jobs out of the states to bring them back or suffer, etc. etc. None of which he did by the way. Which is common for a well documented pathological lair, fraud, con-man..." He lower taxes for everyone. Jobs are coming back. Healthcare is very complex where no politician, including Bernie, can solve it. But Trump did kill Obamacare. He is doing great. "Hell it took me three hours of research to know all i needed to know about Donald trump... apparently the swing states have never heard of research or a computer, cause it's petty easy to look up someone's history..." Your point on research is negated with this comment "How about a source to back up that claim, or don;t they do that on the right anymore? " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voter_turnout_in_the_United_States_presidential_elections We had lower voter turnout in 1996 and 2000. Apparently you cannot do research.
1
"Actually what he did was give 83% of all the benefits to the rich and corporations, then made their tax cuts permanent..." The rich pay the vast majority of taxes to begin with. A little math less for you. If Person A pays 90% of the taxes, and Person B paid 10% of the taxes, and you cut their tax rates by 50%, than Person A drops down to 45% of what he paid in the past and Person B goes down to 5%. Person A still pays more. As for permanent, you need 60 senate votes to do that. Democrats were not willing to vote for it. Learn some facts before you comment please.

Also, what president ever keeps all of their promises? Welcome to politics. They push for something but have to deal with congress. "Why would i research it pink?" Because you criticize others for not doing research but then make false claims. "Also i don't know any university that allows the use of Wikipedia as an actual source on any kind of academic paper." Uh, none. I did not know this was an academic paper though.
1
https://www.census.gov/data/tables/time-series/demo/voting-and-registration/voting-historical-time-series.html There, happy? We had lower rates in 2000 and 1996. But for the record "Business Insider" is not academic quality either.
1
"Why go to school if you're not going to follow what you're taught? " I get paid and credit to published peer reviewed papers. I take my time on those. I do these comments for free. I do not spend that much time on it. And again, Business Insider is not academic quality. It is on par with Wikipedia, at best.

Mckenzie, the poor and middle class have loopholes as well. I write off a lot. Since I am still a college student as a grad student I can write off a lot as an education expense. I just bought new shoes and wrote them off as that because I say I need to dress up to teach. There are ways around it. Not saying I agree with the loopholes, just saying you and others in the middle and lower class have them.
