I am from the midwest. People there will never vote for candidates like Justice Democrats. Kyle is from New York. He lives in that bubble and has never interacted with people from the Midwest. The second you tell those people in the midwest their taxes are going up they will vote against them.

Mandy, I am from the midwest and you are correct. Radicals like this lady will not win in the midwest. Also, this girl is a 28 year old bartender with no real experience. She is going to get destroyed in Congress, and I would not be surprised if she lost the general election. It depends on how the debates go. Overall I think she will win but it doesn't matter, she will be a joke in Congress.

Black Star, I read that report. The numbers were found using two different methods. The $49 trillion made and assumption on healthcare costs being X amount over ten years with X amount increase. A gross oversimplification. The $32 trillion amount admitted that their number is an underestimate due to many variables they ignored such as increases in demand. Reality is this 1. No one can accurately determine how much it would cost 2. History shows that when government funds something it tends to cost more (college for example) 3. Increasing demand without increasing supply will lead to higher prices All indicators show that universal healthcare would cost more.

I am from the Midwest. They will never vote for candidates like these.

Primaries are different than general elections. Many people in the Midwest voted for Bernie over Clinton due to their hate of Clinton. Many who typically vote republican voted for Bernie in the primaries just because they hated her so much. Come the general they would have voted Republican.
2
The problem with the polls is that Bernie was never subjected to attack ads by the RNC. The second that would have happened people would have voted differently. Also, the polls are of around 1000 people, you cannot use to that to determine election results of numerous states.
2
Jibo, it says a 6.67% increase in the payroll tax on businesses and a 3.33% for employees. Read the bill, the funding is listed in Section 9.
2
Kimberly, primaries are different than the general election. Many voted for Bernie in the Midwest out of spite towards Clinton. Many republican voters voted for Bernie knowing he was the easier candidate. My dad is republican as can be and he voted for Bernie knowing he was the easier candidate and he also hated Clinton. This is the level you have dropped to now. You have one victory and you are running around as if it is a "revolution". Taking one seat is not a victory. You have to point to polls and primaries to justify if your side is winning when they aren't.
2
Mandy Haney, that is true. They are cheering about winning in a far left district. In reality if she loses the general election that would be an embarrassment. It would be an embarrassment if she won with less than 60% of the vote. Also, a few weeks ago Alison Hartson got destroyed. Funny how bad these ultra leftists' memories are.
2
Andy Lopez, those healthcare rankings are arbitrary. Do you even know the methods in how they created that ranking? I doubt it, but you blindly follow it.
2
This is his victory lap. Justice Democrats are losing. They may win 5 elections at best. So any win like this Kyle is going to go crazy.
2
Jeremy, that is not a win, plus 5 is a stretch. So far I have you winning two, but we still have a few more primaries to go so I will wait until then. Also, this lady is a bartender, no work experience with poor ideas. She is going to get destroyed in Congress, so it doesn't matter much anyway.
2
This is one victory. The size of this movement is small. Also, this could do more harm than good. If she loses in that district it would be an embarrassment. If she wins with less than 60% of the votes it would not look well either.
2
You can't win in those states on the stance of wanting to raise everyone's taxes. They might have a better chance based on the idea they are not establishment. But they will not win on the idea of higher taxes. This lady here was a bartender, no experience, and wants to raise your taxes. That is all republican candidates need to say.
1
IshtarNike, if you raise taxes on corporations they will leave. Also, when Bernie was cornered during the debate against Cruz Bernie admitted that he will have to raise taxes on everyone. As for Medicaid, it would not be cheaper.
1
Shawn Brink, we don't spend trillions putting people in jail or on wars unless you talking about over several years. Healthcare is an industry that is between 3 to 4 trillion dollars a year. No, we can't afford it.
1
Primaries are different than the general. Radical leftists like this will not win the midwest. The second you show how high taxes will be they will vote against them. Case in point, in Colorado, a left leaning state that voted for Bernie in the primaries voted against universal healthcare the second they saw the price tag.
1
coweatsman, what if you don't need that much healthcare and what if you don't want to go to college? Now you are losing money. Also, increasing demand for those programs will lead to higher cost and/or lower quality.
1
John Watters, it is a fair comparison. Up to 80% said no. The abortion argument is poor as in the end it would have covered other healthcare and adjustments would have been made afterwards. So passing it would have been better than nothing. However, the price tag scared people away.
1
chidorirasenganz, I don't always need healthcare. My friends and family are covered. College is a personal investment, that is where the value is in that. Making it free takes that away and makes college worthless.
1
Nola, preventative healthcare can be done through proper diet and exercise. I am not saying that I don't need healthcare, I do have insurance and use healthcare. But in reality a single payer system would cost me more along with others.
1
John Watters, either way in other states universal healthcare was stopped due to cost and there wasn't any uproar.
1
Jibo Da Grey, it was going to increase the payroll tax by 10%.
1
If you want to look at it that way. In the end it is still a tax increase on everyone (well, at least on people who work).
1
Where does it cut taxes?
1
Give me a quote, I so far see nothing showing it cuts taxes. It if cuts operating taxes citizens will still be paying a higher payroll tax, so what's your point?
1
Nola, I agree that eating healthcare and exercising does not prevent everything. Problem is that in our nation we have a large portion in our country that don't do that and they weigh down the system. We are a very unhealthy nation.
1
It doesn't cut taxes. Read the actual bill. The operating tax is 0.6% of total payroll of ermployers, then 0.3% from employee and 0.9% from nonpayroll income. After that it goes up to 6.67% on employers and 3.33% on employees and 10% on non-payroll income. Taxes go up buddy. That is something you can't argue against.
1
william skay, if they wanted universal healthcare they would have voted for it in 2016. Also, that is just one issue. Ever thought they support him on other issues?
1
A few weeks ago Alison Hartson received 2% of the vote. Now all of a sudden you claim to be winning. Funny how bad ultra leftists' memories are.
