I agree, get rid of teacher unions. Teacher unions and the department of ed. are the two worst things that we have in our educational system. The right don't hate teachers, they hate the teacher unions. On celebrities and Wallstreet making money, that is due to lack of the free market. If we were to remove the safety net and create a low flat tax you will see celebrities earn less because people will be responsible for their own money and will work hard to keep and and not waste it on dumb things. It is more psychological than what people think.

+Red Meth The progressive tax fuck the poor because in the end businesses pass the cost onto the consumers.

+Felizda Kat It makes no sense to you because you can't fathom the idea of people being responsible with their own money. With a flat tax the tax system will be equal. People earn what they do and are not given special favors. Thus people won't be wasting their money on frivolous things. Wealth grows at that point.

+thewanderandhiscomp Unions have done a lot of destruction to this country. Look at Baltimore and Detroit for example. Teachers unions are stronger than ever and our education system is not doing well. Also the Department of Ed. was created in 1980 and we haven't gotten much better.

+joe564338 No, poor people will actually work because they won't have something to rely on. People will suffer but in the end things will get better. The problem with all these social programs is that it is similar to cure the symptom instead of the actual disease. As in you are given a pill to cure the symptom and then another one pops up so then another one is given for that, meanwhile the actual problem is not fixed. It is the same here. You feel that giving money to the poor people will make them not poor. But in reality it has led inflation and our larger income inequality and lack of wealth for them. The reason being is that those who are actually working and losing money through taxes just end up asking for more money at a job and get it. Those that refuse to work see prices go up and suffer. Those who are doing well know the value of money, those who receive social programs don't. If you were to remove social programs and other programs such as college loans then people will be responsible for their own money and will spend wisely. Prices will go down. We are in an economic hardship, we can have a 100% tax on everyone and still be in debt due to our expenses.
