Making it a law that parents' permission is required for an abortion is not a bad idea if the child is a minor. Also, despite us having a constitution all throughout history laws were passed anyways such as the Civil Rights Act which was pointless mainly due to the 14th amendment. Or when a cake shop refuses to bake a cake for a gay wedding a law pushing for religious freedom is necessary as apparently people seem to forget it. Or how several states passed laws after the Kelo vs. City of New London case as apparently federal judges don't understand the 5th amendment. So there is a reasoning behind these laws.
