@MsScarletwings , again, they don't make that much in income. Bezos earns $80,000 a year, that's it. Most of his wealth are non liquidated assets. It is not M1 money. Bezos has a lot of wealth because he is the largest shareholder of his company. Him being that large of a shareholder shows he has confidence in his company thus it increases the values of his shares and thus his wealth.
Take it on the small end. I just bought a new car. It is a manual. I drive it well. Now say you were to give that car to someone who does not know how to drive a manual, I mean has no idea period. Overall, who will get the most value out of that car? Naturally me as it will last longer under me and be driven better under me. Now is that a guarantee? No. But chances are that is the case. Me, by simply owning that car, gives it the ability to create more value overall compared to the other person who will probably wear down the clutch in 50,000 miles.
Same with Bezos and his shares. Him owning those shares shows he is willing to go down with his company, but trusts it so much he owns the shares. If he were to give up those shares to someone like you or me it will send a red flag to investors and they will pull out causing the value of the shares to drop.
So it isn't about them working harder or not. There is a lot more to it.
