I didn't see you comment, but here it goes.
"Rather, these voter ID laws make it practically impossible to vote in specifically targeted communities."
Not true.
". Often the places where IDs are administered have arbitrary dates and times in which they are open,"
Again, not true.
"Furthermore, these laws don't just prevent targeted communities from voting, they prevent nearly everyone
from voting. And, I seriously doubt that most people in states that
require voter IDs even know that their states require such an ID,"
Again, not true. I first voted in a state that required ID. I now live in a state where I don't. When I voted this last time I walked up with my ID out. All they did was ask my name. They didn't even look.
My ID is required for so much, there is no reason not to have it for voting. I need an ID to get on an plane, to pick up my test results at the clinic, to buy alcohol, and many want background checks on guns which goes even farther than an ID. It is not hard to get one and not hard to show it while voting. Heck, even the places where you show it they don't look at it that closely. The gas station attendant down the street looks at my ID closer to see if it is fake. People can just make fake IDs.
