What is wrong with what he said? If you pay them more in unemployment benefits than what they were making they will have less incentive to work. Kyle's argument is poor as raising wages mean nothing if people can't or won't work.

What was wrong with what he said? He spoke the truth.

Misleading title. He is correct, you should not get paid more in unemployment than what you were making. It is true they will want to sit out.

There are a lot of congress members not showing up for work and not doing their jobs.

jfsfrnd from reality.

C Seay I do have a problem with that.

@noahmcdaniel4920 another issue with the "living wage" argument is that it ignores household income. If one person in a home earns $90,000 a year, a spouse can earn $10/hr and still be fine. The term "living wage" is simply an appeal to emotion statement that does not mean anything.
1
@noahmcdaniel4920 you are paid based on your worth. The phrase "living wage" means nothing as it varies from person to person. For example, I walk to work. On of my coworkers drive. So immediately our expenses differ.
1
@doktormcnasty it isn't. As I said, it varies by the individual. In the end you are paid the market rate.
1
@noahmcdaniel4920 worth is based on the market. A McDonalds employee is paid less because consumers do not want to pay $10 for a Big Mac and $5 for a drink. "If tens of millions of people don't get paid enough to pay the basic bills to survive, it really doesn't matter that living expenses differs per person." That is the point, the vast majority of full time workers can. Of the workers who work full time year round only around 2% are poor. And you also have to factor in issues like household income.

jfsfrnd it is arguable that the lock down did not do anything.

@drazapatos not a counter argument.

jerry flounders most likely the latter. Most far leftists are like that. Or the come from rich families like Carlos Maza did.

In a lot of ways work is better for a person overall. I am going to work to simply get out of the house.

@beaverones41 I feel for many on welfare. The issue is that people on the left feel the best solution is to just give them a money as opposed to actually helping them. I am support of more local government as the more local the government is the more of a community feeling it becomes. My issue with far leftists is what Quagmire, of Family Guy, said to Brian in criticizing Brian. In how leftists are all about how bad it is there are poor people. However, Quagmire worked at the soup kitchen. As he told Brian, want to help, grab a ladle. That is how I feel about the far left these days. They sit in their nice homes complaining about how bad it is there are poor people and just want to give them a government check. I do not see the volunteering anywhere. What has Kyle done in his life to help the poor? What charity has he started? Where has he volunteered at? Same with AOC and Bernie. I see nothing but a lot of virtue signaling from them and no action.
