Nevada is pretty libertarian. It is "blue" in the sense that a lot of ultra liberals come to NV from CA, plus they large hispanic population, and that it has two major cities but a tiny rural population. When it comes to federal elections the hispanics and liberals from CA that live in the cities do turn the state blue. But locally it is more red. Hillary Sheive is a republican and won easily in 2014 in Reno.

You can buy insurance. Problem is we don't have a free market system in healthcare.

Republicans have been winning on the idea of repealing Obamacare. Sandoval is very popular in NV. His job is not in jeopardy.

Fredrik, the internet is about as free market as it gets and look at how successful it has become. LASIK is about a free market as it gets as well and it is becoming cheaper and better. While nothing is 100% free market some are more so then others. Healthcare has many government barriers, mainly the payroll tax. The vast majority of people get healthcare insurance through their provider and thus can't choose their own coverage.

Fredrik, net neutrality is something that only recently came about. The internet has been free from government involvement, for the most part, for years. Healthcare as a whole has been exposed to technological advancement, so why hasn't it become cheaper? College education has been exposed to technological advancement but is becoming more expensive as well.

Fredrik, Internet providers have a lot of freedom. That is why it has excel to what it has become. On the TV you have censorship, you don't have that with the internet for example. " Premiums have gone up since Obamacare, but not as much as they did before Obamacare. " That is because of the recession. During a recession premiums should not go up at all like rent prices stagnated and went down in some cases. Instead, because of Obamacare, premiums went up. We do not have a free market in healthcare because people can't choose their providers nor make them compete. But to say that Obamacare slowed down premium increases is simply not true. https://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2016/09/27/health-insurance-premiums-have-continued-to-rise-faster-than-worker-wages-under-obamacare/#2b136d67afe7 Look at the comparison to workers wages. Now there are other factors involved, but during a recession people had wages cut while premiums were going up. "Your arguement about colleges is a red herring." How so?

"Single payer in europe costs less than the american healthcare system and covers more people. " "covers" people is a low standard. On the books everyone can receive a K-12 education. But in some areas they don't have AP courses because of lack of resources. You have people receiving a high school diploma that can't do 4th grade level math. But on the books they are educated.

Gage, the US has, arguably, a strong education system. I lacks resources in some areas. With healthcare we lack resources as well. We can't cover everyone as in reality no country can. They ration their care. Even Bernie Sanders admits that. It is impossible to cover everyone and anyone who says you can is lying or is just ignorant. You will end up lowering the quality.

Victor Torres, with midterm elections liberal voters hardly show up. Those who are more involved in politics typically vote republican. Hillary Schieve won by a large margin in Reno as a republican governor. A lot of liberals in NV are young college students at UNLV or UNR who have not clue who the local representatives are and won't vote. Or are Hispanic and are not as involved in local elections. A republican is going to win NV in 2018 because the long time residents there are republican. Also, I am from NV.

" emergency rooms are overcrowded" So you want to add more people to the system?
1
You will just overcrowd doctor offices then. You shifted the problem from one thing to the next.

I live in Reno and during my time living here NV has a lot of people with mental health problems. It is not easy to fix. I agree, Kyle has no clue what goes on in NV.
