  2.  @thepatbackexperience4573  that is the other point. No matter what happens their fan base will still say their guy "won". These debates are pointless where I don't even watch them anymore. I rather listen to what experts have to say. But the problem is our society does not want that. Stephen Michael Davis has a great video entitled "The Youtube Cargo Cult" where at one point he said there are hour long videos of experts going into details of complex issues. There are also top 10 videos and cat videos. The latter two get way more views. People do not want to listen to experts go into details on complex issues, they rather hear their guy give talking points.

  9.  @mehdihatami3391  I actually see value in a lot of progressive policies. I feel they should be implemented locally. Many argue the role for government and varying answers come. That is why are more local government is needed. It just depends on what people desire. I grew up in a rural area and saw why people there support less government, there is little desire to have government. When you hung out in a town with no stop signs on the roads that says something. But I see why in larger cities there is a desire to have more government. It all varies.

Look at how Bernie responded to the hair salon owner during the debate against Cruz when it came to Obamacare. He had no desire to understand her position with her business. Same with issues like "tuition free college". Far leftists like Kyle do not care about the NCAA and the people in charge, or those who handle college admission, etc. They just want to throw a plan out there and let everyone else adjust.

My ideas is inline with smaller, more local government which gives the people more power and more control. The far left's ideas are to throw a plan out there that is extreme and not care about the struggles it will give to other people.

Who will decide what is elective or not? What about those who like their private insurance? Bernie does not care about them. Also, people die in every system.

  24.  Logically progressive  most like their private insurance and it does not kick ill people off. Medicare, however, limits what care you can get. Also, a hospital cannot force you out, even if you can't pay. That is one reason why healthcare is so expensive in the US, many receive it and don't pay. Also, Medicare limits how much one can stay in the hospital. Do you even now how Medicare works Far leftists like yourself will complain about government doing wrong but then turn around and say you want more.. As I always say, far leftists are like an abused partner in a relationship. They are abused so their solution is to marry the person thinking that will stop it, but it gets worse. So they have a kid, but it gets worse, so they have another, etc.

  26.  @Fordragon  not true. Amenable mortality is an issue every nation faces. As for the 40,000 stat, it varies. But, as prof. Katherine Baicker said, those people are poor and bad health is associated with those in poverty. So the question becomes if they die due to lack of access or due to being in bad health to begin with. 40,000 is actually a small number in a nation as large as the US. Thus, you cannot say for certain M4A will prevent it.

  54. Not really. To a degree, but leaders have to make unpopular decisions at time. Take a small situation of myself where I teach labs at a university. I always say I have a quasi-relationship with my students. I do feel for them and work hard for them, but in the end I am not their friends. I have to give them a grade that can influence their GPA and scholarships. I have to set a standard and boundaries. Same is with politicians. They can't just do everything off of emotions but have to have standards and boundaries.

Consider myself as an example, I teach college labs. While I do feel for my students and care about the, in the end I have boundaries. I am not their friends and the reason why is because I have to make tough decisions that influence their lives. Now expand that to politics. They have to make tough decisions. Problem is, as we see these days, they refuse to.
