  3. Myke Look at every other recession, it was followed by a spike in GDP growth. We have not had that yet. Compare it to this, say you are running at a pace, then you trip and fall.  To catch up you have to sprint, then get back to the pace. With the economy we "tripped" but we never "sprinted" to catch back up. We are still behind.

  4. vagas99 Obama's approval rating means nothing. You have to realize that 8 years is a lot.  You have a lot of people who are more active in the economy now who never experience a strong economy before.  If the economy booms under Trump people will look back at Obama as a failure which he really is.

  5. vagas99 Why don't you think the economy won't boom under Trump?  The economy "tanked" under Bush because of the housing bubble.  But recessions happen, how we recover is key. Under Obama we never recovered.

  6. Steven M There haven't been a lot of improvement. GDP growth has been low. Every other recession was met with large growth to catch us back up.  We have not seen that following the most recent recession.

  7. Not really comparable. People disliked Bush at the end of his time so democrats had an inside edge. The reason why Trump and republicans won was because after 8 years of Obama people were sick of democrats and the fact we haven't improved. The political climate is different. It all depends on that.
