Oh, but this guy says that employees do not get wiped out. This guy is clearly an idiot.

It is much harder than that. This guy works in social media who always have high profit margins. Even during a poor economy they will do well. Airline companies have around 8% profit margins. And yes, when a company go through bankruptcy do fire employees.
2
@fanaanefelibata5067 during bankruptcy they will lay off a lot of workers as before filing for bankruptcy you have to try to cut as much as possible in order to pay. Bankruptcy is a last resort. Also, who buys the company has to pay the debt as well. But in the end employees do lose jobs.

A good amount of them do. It is a tax free way in paying employees.

Reality is that every human life has a value. It isn't so much about profits but about resources. Gov. Cuomo said something along the lines that if we spend a trillion dollars and save one person's life it was worth it. Well, in reality it wasn't. We are seeing it now that we have to decide what is worse, the virus or the bad economy? These are the difficult discussions the far left never wants to make but in reality happens all the time in economics and you don't know about it.

But he is an idiot. If a company goes bankrupt employees do lose jobs. This guy invested in social media and that is all he knows. Social media typically have high profit margins as they very little expenses and high revenue. You can't compare it to airline companies.

@studio3js196 what don't I understand? Many businesses have gone bankrupt and employees have lost jobs. Forever 21 filed for bankruptcy and prior to that shut down almost 100,000 stores. That is job loss. Or look at the recent XFL. They just filed for bankruptcy. Prior to that they said no more next season meaning those players are out of a job. So please tell me how a company going bankrupt does not mean the employees are out of a job? I will wait.
1
@Moetastic so you support people losing their jobs?
1
@Moetastic They are only "failing" because of a unique situation. Not because of years of bad investments. We have a unique situation on our hands. A large corporation will "tighten their belts" by laying off employees.

This guy is an idiot. If the company goes bankrupt the employees do lose jobs. This guy has never managed a business outside of social media and it shows.

@meRyanP these far leftists are very ignorant. They are listening to a guy who invests in social media as opposed to running an actual business. It is true that it is not like opening a Wendy's. Re-opening an airline is much more difficult and costly.

@KingJT80 he did not create any business. He stepped into one. Look at his history. Also, social media has high profit margins due to low expenses and high revenue from advertising. Think about it, do you pay a membership fee for facebook? No. However, they earn money through advertising. Just like professional sports get their revenue through TV contracts. The NFL get their revenue through TV contracts where a lot are free as in CBS for example, over the air waves. You can't compare a social media company to an airline company. They deal with different issues.
1
@KingJT80 they are only "failing" because of a situation beyond their control. This is a unique situation for all. Stop playing "corporations are bad" card here. Also, government stopped travel and the economy. And opening up an airline is not the same as opening up a McDonalds. You have to inspect the planes, get pilots, get staff, learn a lot of law related to safety, etc. You can't just let them fail when 1. This is out of their control and, to a degree, government's fault 2. Evey airline is struggling.
1
@fanaanefelibata5067 unemployment exists because of friction in the economy.
1
@nandy9285 the issue is that running an airline is much more complex than running a restaurant. Also, if all airlines go under travel will be screwed for years.

He has "left wing" ideas because he does not know what he is talking about. He works in social media who have high profit margins due to low expenses and high revenue with advertising. He does not have to worry about setting a price to the dominate users of it. He does not have to worry about hiring a ton of employees and renting space. He does not know how an airline company operates.
