Chomsky is clear example of sounding smart does not mean you are smart. He needs to stick to his field of study as he clearly knows very little outside of it.

sprybug, I am a moderate commenting on a radical left wing channel. The vast majority of people here will disagree with me. It is no different then if a 6 foot guy walked into a room full of midgets, he will be the tallest person in the room. It doesn't make them right and me wrong, it just means I am in the lion's den. As for them pointing out the flaws in my comments, that hardly happens as I give rebuttals beyond talking points.

Carmen, Chomsky is an ideologist. He does not live in reality. He said that corporations are coercive and oppressive when I have never seen a corporation hold a gun to someone's head and force them to do things. You can feel they are evil, but they are not coercive. He praised Venezuela for their policies when they failed. Chomsky is great in his field of study, but that's it. Outside of it he has opinions where he had done very little research on them. People do need to stop giving him air time as he does not know much. Just because you sound smart does not mean you are smart.

Jack Ban, MLK was a preacher, not an economist. I would not try to shut him up. I will point that out showing that you have to be highly skeptical of what he is saying. I my opinions on capitalism as well, I am a year away from getting a PhD. Why isn't my opinion relevant at that point? You are using what is called "appeal to authority" which is a logical fallacy. As for me agreeing with Steven Crowder (I don't listen to Milo), I do. However, he is an economist either, so I would not cite him on anything, I am skeptical on everything he says, and I disagree at times. With Chomsky, it is that he is flat out wrong. Look at his support of Venezuela until it went to crap, or how he called corporations "oppressive" and "coercive". A disagreement will be whether or not Walmart is good for society, and if so in what ways. But no matter how awful you feel Walmart is, they do not hold a gun to anyone's head forcing people to shop at their stores and/or force people to give them money.

Citing polls is deceptive as polls are very flawed. Chomsky does not bring that up. Some of the flaws are the fact that the questions are vague, with phone polling you never know who you are polling, you cannot see their expressions, the polls hardly ever release valuable information such as the individuals' income level, family size, where they live, etc. Chomsky should be aware of this. Either he is and refuses to say or he isn't and is clueless. This is why we never govern on polls. Chomsky said that a poll had over 60% supporting universal healthcare. However, 80% of voters in Colorado, a left leaning state that voted for Bernie in the primaries, said no to it. Chomsky not bringing that up is deny reality. Fact is Chomsky is given way too much attention. To me he is a guy who sounds smart saying wrong things.

"I don't understand why people like Pat Robertson exist. What's the appeal?" Same reason why Chomsky exist to the degree he does. People are fooled by a smooth talking individual and never listen to what they are actually saying.

We can disagree, but when someone is flat out wrong on something they are wrong. We can disagree on corporations on their value of society. But to call them "coercive" is 100% wrong as corporations never use the threat of violence to force people to do things. For as bad as Walmart may be I have never seen them hold a gun to someone's head and force them to work for them and/or give up money.

-testify-, the dislike ratio says a lot. Outside of radical left wing youtube videos people do not seem to like Sanders. Kyle recently did a video talking about how over 1 million watched the Bernie Sanders town hall discussion on healthcare as a point that he is popular. I can very easily look at a dislike ratio on youtube video as an example showing how he isnt' popular.
