Thousands of people die in other countries due to inferior care. Every country has problems.

Steven Rix The US does a lot of things well. You have to remember, though, that we have 320+ million people. That accounts for a lot of what goes on in the US, including our large economy.

Steven Rix You won't get great healthcare quality without a strong economy. The resources of healthcare just don't appear out of nowhere. They have to be produced. That is done with a strong economy.

***** Nope, I am a real person. First off, Kyle brought up one story where someone died in the US and tried to use it as a way to criticize the US healthcare system. He then claimed that these things never happen in other countries. A simple google search shows that is simply not true. You can find several examples of similar things happening in other countries. Next, you do not have a strong economy if you are not producing, period. If you are not producing then you won't have the resources to provide healthcare at all. You will lack hospitals, medicine, doctors, nurses, etc. Do you think these resources just appear out of nowhere?

***** We lack doctors, nurses, hospitals, researchers in the medical field, pharmacists and so one the the medical industry as is. We simply lack the resources right now. Let me ask you, what do you do for a living? Do you work in the medical field? I bet not. People die in other countries due to inferior care. So what's your point?
1
***** Yes, we lack resources and skilled workers. Sorry facts hurt you.

***** So you are going to ignore a book based on the subject? How do you get your information? I am a skilled worker. I am a PhD candidate that does research that is used in the medical field. "Grow the fuck up, you rightwing fucking lapdog." I find that statement to be rather ironic.

Steven Rix Deregulation of what? Please create a list.

DanRyzESPUK, here is a good book for you to read https://www.aei.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/-the-business-of-health_110115929760.pdf There aren't better outcomes.

DanRyzESPUK Your anecdotal evidence is not sufficient. Both systems have problems. I live in the US and I have never had any problems with our system. Neither has anyone else that I know. Does that mean we don't have any? No.

Every other country has just as many problems, if not more than the US. We can't have universal healthcare because we lack doctors, nurses, hospitals, researchers in the medical field and so on. We simply lack the skilled workers to provide the services.
1
Arguably we do. https://www.aei.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/-the-business-of-health_110115929760.pdf

Two of those four are ran locally. And most prison are ran locally as is.

This happens all across the world. A 16 year old girl name Natasha died in the UK after seeing several doctors and had to wait a long time for an MRI. How about you tell stories like that? Oh, wait, that would mean you can't be bias.

PhiloAmericana The UK has people dying due to inferior care. The way you are phrasing it is being highly deceptive. Yes, everyone in the UK is technically covered. Just like everyone in the US has access to K-12 education since every state provides it. Does that mean everyone in the US get the same level of education? Does that mean everyone knows how to do long division or understand where pi comes from? No. No different than just because everyone has coverage that it is actually going to work. You need to read this book. https://www.aei.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/-the-business-of-health_110115929760.pdf

PhiloAmericana Ah, now you are pulling a logical fallacy. That book was written by two professors who work in that field and cite several peer reviewed journals. But I guess that is not good enough you for. Just coming from AEI is all you need. because why look at more information when it disagrees with your already ingrained thoughts. If you actually read the book they admit that the US has problems, but that other countries have problems as well. That is the point. Saying that the UK is so great is completely false. And as I said, that book cites studies from peer reviewed journals. But I guess peer reviewed journals are funded by plutocrats as well. How about you read the book and criticize the contents as opposed to who published it. Also consider that it is free online. Our healthcare system has problems, but you don't have to be rich to do well. My family was poor, I know several people who were middle class only and we all had great experiences with the healthcare system. Again, it has problems, but to say that only the rich will do well is an asinine argument to make. I like how you are talking about the government negotiating drug prices. This is the exact same government who is bought out. So what will you do if the drug companies buy out the politicians? We are back to expensive drugs. To sum up what I think is the root of the problem with our healthcare system I will ask two questions 1. Why do so many employers pay with healthcare insurance as opposed to a higher wage? 2. Why does healthcare insurance equal healthcare?
