@robertaylor9218 , schools and roads are ran and funded locally which is what people want. They don't want top down government or a centralized system. They want a local system.

@robertaylor9218 , federal government is centralized control. On these issues are are objective and subjective sides to them. Both at messy where at the state level you can handle them better, especially the subjective side. If a state wants something the people there can vote in politicians to pass laws. If you don't like it than you can move or rally to get in politicians you like. Take the recent abortion laws being passed. They are at the state level. Those abortion laws in AL or MO do not change the laws in CA or NY. It is what the people want in those states. Who are you to say? Also, at the state level you can control government easier. You can see if government is actually working for you and if not you can change it or move and remain a US citizen. Centralized government is not good. Going back to the abortion laws. While people in NY and CA don't agree with it remember, it is isolated to those states. How would you feel if there were to become federal law? That is the point. Here are a couple videos to watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQLBitV69Cc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKhyskuIIjY

@robertaylor9218 , in the end state governments provide the balance of having government but also controlling it to where it does what the people want.

@jeffgojail , what? The smaller the government the less corrupt it is. Why? For two major reasons. One, you have a louder voice at the local level. You can see if your government is working for you by being involved. I know how my school district is ran. I met both candidates for mayor in my city. I constantly talked to the elected sheriff. And two, at the local level you can move and remain a US citizen. You call me an idiot but have not given me a counter argument. You can control a small group of people easier, I agree. That means the people can rally and vote out local representatives.

@jeffgojail care to give examples

@jeffgojail , ok, and? Don't like how Philadelphia is being managed than rally to change it or move. That is the beauty of local government. You say to "look it up", I have. I posted two videos on the issue. Also, I gave you my life experience. You want to centralize the issue which basically takes down the entire ship. I want to spread the powers around. Sure, some areas will be corrupt, but they will be isolated.

@jeffgojail , "just police force corruption alone should prove my point police forces aren't Federal." Yep, because the FBI has never done anything shady in their entire existance.

@jeffgojail "There's absolutely no fucking reason why some practices should be legal in some states and not others." Yes there is, it deals with culture. Take the abortion example I gave. It is a very subjective issue. How would you feel if there was a federal law banning all abortion? I bet many states would hate it, just like many states hate the Roe v Wade decision. There are strong arguments for and against abortion, thus it is subjective. The issue is that there is a role for government, but what is that role differs from culture to culture. There is a highly subjective nature to it. Thus the best way to go is to keep it local. There are limits in what every government can do as listed in the Constitution. But beyond that they have autonomy. Your medicare marijuana situation can be easily handled. If you plan on leaving your state than you can get a vacation override to get more of your drug. I did that with my medication. You say "justice" for everyone, define that. Is it justice to have a centralized system that ends up favoring one state over another? Not to be rude but you have not given me a strong argument for centralized government.
1
@jeffgojail , to add, what if the federal government outright banned medical marijuana? Would you support that?
1
@jeffgojail , the states voted for Trump, not the people. The federal government is there to serve the states, that is why the electoral college exists. I agree, people are ignorant, but not for the wrong reasons. Most people just want to mind their own business, drink beer and fuck. They can't see beyond their own experiences. That is why local governments are so crucial. You can see if government is actually working for you and it only influences you and your community. You opposing Trump is a great example why we need limited federal government.
1
Pretty much. The far let essentially wants only public schools ran by the federal government which is a problem.
1
You can't as it violates the Constitution. Also, it goes down a dangerous path of indoctrination.
