The problem with asking for "what regulations" is that these regulations are tedious to read and understand. Obamacare was over 800 pages long. What you create, simply on the surface, is the environment that you have to be a business owner who is really intelligent or you will have to have the finances to hire a team of lawyers to simply read and understand the law. That holds back production and investment. I know several college students that didn't know that you can use textbooks you bought as a tax write off. Most people don't understand the law and ones that try have to put in a lot of effort. Just on that level these regulations hurt businesses.

Before the EPA air quality was improving. Just like before OSHA work related deaths was dropping steadily

Jose, what is with the fear mongering? Before the EPA air quality was improving. Today, with technology, if a place is bad with ants in ketchup it will be given poor reviews and lose customers.
1
What is the reason for them? Before OSHA work related deaths was dropping at a steady rate. To me that means all of OSHA is unnecessary. But when you bring up that idea ultra liberals yell and scream how people are going to die. On air pollution before the EPA air quality was improving at a steady rate. You say there are reasons behind these regulations when in reality they are just added layers of bureaucracy and expense for businesses.

https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm4822a1.htm#fig2 While it does involve mining that was a major part of industry at the time and also very dangerous. The fact that became safer really showed how the country was progressing. https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2014/01/a-report-card-for-humanity-1900-2050/282928/ http://www.copenhagenconsensus.com/how-much-have-global-problems-cost-world/research The major barrier is that most data is from 1970 and is from the EPA. Kind of convenient of the EPA to release information that only starts around the time they were created. It is classic lying with statistics.

Now, is that to say everything is great or we shouldn't do anything? Or that the EPA and OSHA are 100% worthless and done no good? No, not at all. But when Trump talks about reducing regulations you get regressive liberals like Kyle and Bernie Sanders screaming bloody murder about water being polluted and people dying which ignores the fact that maybe we do have too many regulations.

To add one more thing, Gina, what I gave you is somewhat reliable, but you should always question everything. It is evidence of thing improving before those agencies came into existence. As I mentioned before, it does not mean those agencies were frivolous nor does it mean some sort of government regulation did actual good. What it does show is a valid argument against the continuous adding of regulations we have been doing in this country and possibly the free market does work to a degree.
1
How about Kyle list some regulations and show how they actually save lives. It goes both ways.

To people asking others to name regulations, you realize that these laws are long and tedious to read. Obamacare was over 800 pages. That is why they hurt businesses, they are long and unnecessary. Only businesses with the finances that can afford a team of lawyers to read and analyze the laws can work with them. I come to these comments sections and people as surprised that if you are in college you can use textbooks that you bought as a tax write off. People don't even understand simple tax code, let along these regulations.

Fun fact, before OSHA was created work related deaths were dropping at a steady rate.
1
Before the EPA was created air quality was improving. Before OSHA was created work related deaths was dropping at a steady rate. But since the creation of the EPA and OSHA wages have remained stagnate.

Because there are so many that getting into specifics will lead to a long drawn out conversation. . Read how laws are written, Obamacare was over 800 pages.

"The vast majority of scientists believe in climate change, and there is significant data to back it up" Climate change has been happening for over 4 billion years. You know what else the vast majority of scientists agree with? That the earth is not flat. So does that mean that is bad?
1
" what? I just love how you assume scientists, far more educated and scientifically-minded than you" I am actually a scientist myself. In fact here is a paper I am reading right now. http://pubs.acs.org/doi/pdf/10.1021/jp312817t
1
Brandon, I linked you that paper to show I am a scientist and study it for a living. It has nothing to do with climate change, I am just showing to you how asinine your comment was.
1
Predicting natural cycles is challenging since we know very little about nature and the ecosystem as a whole.
1
Except 97% of climate scientists are not "united" on that conclusion. For example one poll had only 29% of the climate scientists responding to it. That leaves our 71% of them whose answers are, at best, unclear.
1
It was a poll that was published in a peer review journal. http://pubs.acs.org/doi/pdf/10.1021/es501998e What does the research show? Yes, the earth is warming and yes, CO2 levels are rising. That's it. Beyond that how you interpret the facts are key. The questions that are not answered and you have not said at all are 1. how much is man playing role 2. What can we do if anything 3. is it really bad We should continue doing research on it and continue progressing technology like we are already, even in the private sector. We should also get government out of the issue and leave science to the scientists, no in the hands of politicians with special interest groups.
