Bernie is radical. Pushing to take a functional healthcare system and completely replace it is radical anywhere. Especially in a nation of over $327 million. As for becoming like Scandinavian nations, he does not want to. He wants their level of spending with US level of taxation. Those nations have lower corporate tax rates, a VAT tax, no min. wage, more of a flat income tax, no wall street tax, not wealth tax. Also, their culture is completely different than us.
2
Fire departments are paid for and ran locally. 70% of fire fighters are volunteer. Also, it is a drop in the bucket in terms of cost.
2
@sgcv Scandinavian nations are not socialist. Also, again, fire departments are paid for and ran locally.
2
@sgcv Sanders is looking for centralized control with his programs. You cannot look at locally ran programs to justify a federal one.
2
@sgcv but he ignores their tax code such as more of a flat tax, lower corporate taxes, no wealth tax, no wall street tax, a VAT tax, etc. He is also ignoring culture.
2
They can't accept reality that no one likes Bernie.
2
He is a communist. People do not support his ideas. Younger people care about handouts as they pay no taxes.

@TheSpiritOfTheTimes the exit polls that Kyle points to shows two things 1. they do not know what Bernie's M4A plan really is 2. They support a public option. Actual Justice Warrior did a video on this. Keep in mind these were democrat voters. Also, polling data is very unreliable as they are vague questions on complex issues being asked to non experts. 80% of voters in Colorado voted against universal healthcare.
1
@TheSpiritOfTheTimes that is not true at all.
1
They won't lose it. Congress has to do that and no congress will ever take those programs away.
1
@vonzipper2712 he hasn't. No one is talking about taking away SS and Medicare. That is a far leftists fear mongering point.
1
@vonzipper2712 it won't be. Also, that is on Congress. Trump can't do anything until Congress does.
1
@christopherlee9026 I am in support of private unions as long as you don't have crony unionism. Also, you are ignoring the tax issue.
1
@williambonac8157 far leftists have the same talking points when it comes to M4A. They assume it will cost less as if that has ever occurred with a federally ran program. They assume same level of care will be offered which is not true. And they ignore how complex this issue really is. When you break it down the US is on par with other nations in healthcare. We all face our issues but we all have strengths that fit our cultures.
1
@williambonac8157 if we go with the fact that M4A will pay 40% less than yes, it will be cheaper. But access and quality will drop.
1
@RyosukeS30 when you do it by gun point yes it is a bad thing.
1
@RyosukeS30 when the literacy program is "learn or die" that is an issue. Also, if they had a free market system food will not be an issue. I see a guy who is making the citizens depend on him so he can control them. Praising those programs is literally letting the ends justify the means.
1
@RyosukeS30 he was a dictator so yes, it was a "read or die" system. They live in an oppressed system. Who cares you can read if you are oppressed. There is no reason to praise Castro unless you feel the ends justify the means. Also, an argument I hear to defend Bernie is that all he wants to do is give us healthcare and an education. Oh, so like Castro did? During the great depression FDR mandated that farmers kills their cattle and crops. So government led to less food.
1
@sgcv the top tax rate of those nations cover more people. For example their top tax rate covers people who make 1.5 times more than the average. In the US it is much higher. In Denmark the highest tax bracket are for people earning around $55,000 a year. In the US it is people earning over $400,000 a year. So yes ,they have more of a flat tax than the US.
1
@ziul123 no, by Hofstede cultural dimension the US is more feminine and individualistic nation. We will not accept a centralized healthcare system.
1
Him not having an actual plan hurt him. People grew tired of his talking points.
1
@Xpistos510 he had no plan. When pushed he resorted to talking points. That is why he can never answer any questions.
