They weren't denying gay, the characteristics they are born with. They were denying a cake for a gay wedding, something they can control. Kyle's own argument can be used against him.

Bhopolatebhipbookie, a coffee shop owner denied services to a group of Christians. There was not any uproar by the left about it.

Kyle is wrong on the idea of a "protected class". While you are born gay, you can control your actions, such as how you dress and having a wedding. So by Kyle's argument one can easily say the company is not denying gay people but instead refusing to serve a gay wedding, the action. You can control the action. Kyle's argument is, once again, easily debunked.

CAM_, government enforced Jim Crow laws.

ditsylilg, it is equality in the eyes of the law. The second the government comes in and forces that cake shop to serve someone they don't like they are not treating someone equally. In this case they are favoring the customer over the cake shop owner.

You don't have that freedom. Everyone discriminates. I bet there are certain people you refuse to associate with. So right away you are discriminating.

There is a purpose for laws. In this case these anti-discrimination laws are pointless. How many businesses discriminate? Basically none. You really have to dig to find ones that do. What we saw here was a gay couple looking to punish a business they felt had no morals. That is wrong and no different than if a Christian group used government to punish gays they felt had no morals.

Ben Vergus, exactly. Yes, being gay is how you were born. But when you act in a gay wedding that is the action you can control.

They are. You are not denying the person but what the activity. Kyle talks about not serving people for actions they cannot control. You can control if you are going to have a gay wedding or not.

Burg, Jim Crow laws was government stepping in and forcing discrimination. Now we have government stepping in forcing integration. You went from one extreme to the next.

BEast Sauce, it isn't that Kyle hates David. Kyle wants an oppressive government.

A lot of things are a privilege. There are arguments to be made to have the government come in stop businesses from discriminating. However, how often does it happen anymore? It doesn't. Businesses are not discriminating. What we saw here was a gay couple get all SJW on us and used government force to shut down a business when they could have went elsewhere.

The problem here is that this is the extreme case in the opposite of Jim Crows. Jim Crow laws were laws forcing discriminating. Now we have a law forcing integration. There are arguments to be made in having anti-discrimination laws, but only if discrimination is a major problem. It isn't. This couple could have went elsewhere to get a cake.
