In four years the economy will be booming and people will be saying "Bernie who?".
2
Scott S Already we have three companies, Carrier, Sprint, and now Ford saying they will invest in the US to create jobs. Trump is going to bring money back into the US which will lead to an economic boom. All those young Bernie supporters will be entering a strong job market when they finish college and will realize that Trump's leadership was great forgetting about Bernie.
2
Scott S Sprint's CEO said that Trump winning is a reason why they stayed her, same with Ford. He is creating the environment for businesses to stay. Just like when Obama was elected in 2012 a company in my hometown, the next day, said that they are closing by the end of the year and did. Those jobs pay above the min. wage, I don't see why you need to bring that up. As is, when broken down there is not one single good reason to even have it. Also, tax breaks do not necessarily mean less revenue. But you don't care for facts.
2
Scott S The CEO even said Trump winning was a factor in bringing those jobs back. "Tax breaks don't= less revenue" Depends, what's higher, 50% of 100 or 10% of 1000? When broken down there is not one single good reason to even have a min. wage. Wages don't tell the whole story, the value of the dollar does.
2
Scott S Nice counter argument.
2
Scott S Again, that is not a rebuttal but you just running away from an argument you know you won't do well in.
2
Scott S Well, you have no counter argument. You even brought in the min. wage when these companies pay way above the min. wage to begin with.
2
Scott S You didn't. Those companies pay above the min. wage. In the end there is not one single good reason to even have a min. wage.
2
Chris Hakala No, they pay more because in a competitive market that is how you attract more employees and applicants. That is why you have other employers who pay way above the min. wage, they can afford it. Walmart can't afford higher wages than they already pay, but they can afford above the min. wage so they pay it. You boycott a business by not working there. If you don't have that power than you need to develop a skill to be able to.
2
Chris Hakala Nope, in retail Walmart pays competitive wages. They simply can't afford higher wages. Shareholders want to see a return on their investment. Without them Walmart will be no bigger than a Raley's or Hy Vee, both retail stores that pay similar wages. On CEO, if you take the salaries of the top 6 executives and spread them out to the 525,000 lowest paid employees of Walmart they will earn an extra $147 a year. That's it. There are jobs available, people just have have to develop skills.

Redwingsfan, if Trump is successful people will vote for more republicans forcing democrats to go more center. Fact is that, economically, democrat policies do not work which is why the extreme left hardly wins.

Bernie lost

Fact is that the democrats have to become more moderate, especially if Trump is successful. Democrats had their chance with Obama and the democrat congress but failed. If Trump is successful younger people will see that and vote republican and disregard radicals on the left. Democrats only chance is to become more moderates and tell the Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warrens of the group to shut up.

Again, right away Kyle is wrong. Clinton was not supposed to win in a landslide because people were not happy with years of Obama. Fact is that after Obama we have not improved so people went the other way. Democrats going more left is not going to help but instead make things worse.
