Democrats don't argue because they have nothing to argue about. The run elections trying to paint their opponent as an evil guy. For example, Romney basically said Obama was a nice guy but a poor president. Obama basically made Romney look like an incredibly evil human being that people should avoid like the plague. Take almost any issue the democrats support especially on the economy and one will see that they simply won't work in the US. For example take universal healthcare. You can't consume what you don't produce. If the government gives away healthcare where is it going to come from? Let us say we are short doctors (amongst other things) because in reality we will be. How are we going to get more doctors? Increasing their pay will increase the supply but that will increase healthcare cost. We can lower quality and ration out healthcare but this goes back to liberals want the best quality for "free" for everyone so we can't lower quality. That leaves the only other option to have the government force people to become doctors or take on more patients for less which is he equivalence to slavery. It is similar to public education. We spend more than any other country in the world to ensure everyone is offer a public education. We can't afford to pay teacher more so we up classroom size and teacher workload. That is just one of many examples on how democrats' policies simply don't work or they can't argue with them. They resort to making their opponent look evil and berating them.

Christopher Czimback Ok, I will ask you, who is going to produce healthcare? Where is it going to come from? It doesn't appear out of thin air. The problem with liberals is they have this fantasy that the government can offer these goods. They don't understand that just because a law exist doesn't mean the resources and goods and services will be available. They have to be produced. As I said, we will have to pay doctors more due to the fact we will need more or they will be taking on a larger load but that will increase healthcare cost, kind of going against what liberals want. We will have to ration it out but that lowers quality. The only other option so force, force doctors to work harder for less. We spend more on education than any other country but yet our classroom sizes are growing. We don't have enough teachers. For accusing one part of slashing something it is funny how we still spend a lot but yet get low results.

Christopher Czimback Where do tax dollars come from? From production of the private sector. It goes back to you can't consume what you don't produce. It also goes back to that in the US universal care would mean millions of more people on healthcare. We don't have enough doctors or resources to consume. We will either have to force more doctors to be trained (which is slavery), force the to take on a larger workload (once again, slavery), pay them more which will be expensive and a waste in the market, or cut back on quality. We will be having a healthcare system with little to no production thus money will be wasting making tax dollars worthless. Once again, we spend more money on education than any other country. With supposedly so much cuts we still spend a lot. It seems to me we have wasteful spending in education. You talk about military spending. We spend a lot of money trying to keep peace in the world, it is expensive when the rest of the world doesn't care and leans on you. The big problem here is that you don't understand what money really is. Money is worthless until it is invested. Just spending more money on education and healthcare isn't going to help when it is wasteful. We need to invest money. You feel that the government is the only entity that can do it but fact is that it is the only entity that can waste money and not be held accountable. What is worse is that the government has a credit card. Spending more money isn't going to help.

***** When did I ever say anything to show that I was a racist? Plus if that is the best you can do then you have failed. Even if I were a racist (which I am not) how would that make any of my economic ideas flaws? This is exactly what I am talking about. Liberals have no argument, they try to paint their opponent as evil or bad to avoid actual discussion on policies.

Christopher Czimback Yes they will start going to the doctor. I will go to the doctor more often if I had government healthcare. Look at our society, we are an entitled society, we will take advantage of a system. The slavery part was that we will be short doctors if we initiate universal healthcare. The only options are to ration healthcare (lowering the quality), pay doctors more to increase supply of them (increasing healthcare cost), or force them to take on more customers for the same price which is slavery. Will they be paid well? Not really because they will be working harder. Just like we are doing now with public education, we are increasing classroom size but not paying teachers more. On taxes you need to learn what money really is. Money isn't some finite resource, it is essentially worthless until it is invested to create capital we can consume and value. Just giving money away lowers it's value. Giving money away to "care" for others doesn't give it value in the market. We do spend more money on education than any other country, it is obvious that spending money isn't the problem. We need to find a more creative way to spend money to actually invest it instead of wasting it. The problem with the military is that we have to police the world. We pull out of Iraq and look what happens, ISIS takes over it within days. No other country is going to do anything, we have too. I sometimes wish we would pull all our troops out and see the rest of the world fall apart, then people will realize how important we really are. I agree we need to stop giving money to corporations. That is a fault of giving a federal government too much power.

Stanley Steamer Really? It was democrat policies that holds it back. This country has seen recessions before FDR and we got out quickly without federal government involvement. When FDR took over we saw a slow recovery for the first time from a recession, same with Obama now. It was higher taxes that limited economic growth. It was the min. wage that keep unemployment for low skilled workers high and contributes to poverty. When broken down democrat policies have never worked.

daz7887 In other countries they ration out their care. The US is number 1 in responsive care. We are in the top 5 in cancer survival rate. In the UK and Canada you have to wait for specialized care if you can get it at all. Women give births in bathrooms in the UK due to lack of hospitals beds. Yes it is cheaper because you get what you pay for.

Dems have a weak base because they have weak policies. They have a handful of talking points but when question they fall apart. Take universal healthcare. Where is it going to come from? So the government providing it is going to make it appear out of thin air. It doesn't work.

David Lloyd-Jones In Canada their healthcare is rationed. They don't produce enough to consume. That is why there is a waiting list for specialized care. In the US we have public education. We spend more than any other country but yet we are increasing classroom sizes and can't afford more teachers. If the US goes to universal healthcare the same results will happen, quality will drop and price will go up. You also have to factor in that the US is ahead of Canada in terms of productivity and science and technology development. Canada really isn't that great of a country unless you have low expectations.

oli36999 Every country deals with problems, the US with it's size and population and diversity deals with more problems. Around 4/5 of Canada's population live within a 100 miles from the border, in the US our top states in population are CA, TX, and NY, three different corners of the country. With our diversity and size it is hard to develop policies that actually work. It does create problems but the US does have a lot of success even with it's challenges.

David Lloyd-Jones There is more to life expectancies than healthcare. As I said, the US is more productive and is number 1 in technology and science development and research. Maybe if you didn't ration out healthcare you would improve productivity.

Stanley Steamer The US has space travel, the artificial heart, laser technology to name a few. Yes Europe has developed indoor plumbing and refrigerators in the early 1900s and before when the US was developing, look at now. Healthcare, like anything in the market, is a consumer product. If you run out of doctor's time and space in hospitals then what?
