@safwangreene185 , administrative cost in Medicare is higher then compared to private insurance. The reason why the percent is lower is because people on Medicare are old and thus more sick. But per patient Medicare pays more. Medicare has a 40% less pay rate, so yes, healthcare providers will receive less. Yes, Medicare for all will reduce our pay down to what other nations have. And like other nations we will have lower quality and accessibility. This is very basic economics. Something has to give.

@nmarbletoe8210 , ok, now read the Forbes article entitled "The Myth of Medicare's 'Low Administrative Costs'" There they cite the study entitled "Medicare Administrative Costs Are Higher, Not Lower, Than for Private Insurance" As I said, Medicare covers old people who get sick more, thus they spend more on healthcare by default. Per patient they pay more in administration cost. For example, say my healthcare provider pays $1000 in one month on me, $900 on healthcare and $100 on administration cost. Yes, that is 10%. Now say Medicare paid $10,000 on healthcare for someone, $200 on admin cost and $9800 on healthcare. Yes, the percent is lower at 2%, but the cost overall is higher per patient.

@andreaconner5764 , you have never been an independent contractor before. A lot of them are a part of the "gig" economy. Others actually have more freedom and end up earning under independent contractors. And for tax purposes they pay less in taxes as they have 1099s where many write offs can occur.
