Won't happen. The economy is strong and independents won't want to change anything. That alone gives Trump the inside track. Now add in the dirt about Bernie that very few actually know about will lead to a major defeat of Bernie. Reality is that very few still don't know much about Bernie. All they see is this old guy from Vermont pushing for socialism. Add in his praise of Castro and other communist nations, how he stole electricity from his neighbor, him wanting to tax everyone high, how he praised bread lines, etc. and people won't vote for him.

The Rust Belt is not going to vote for an old socialist in the general election. He may win the primaries, but no way those individuals vote for an old socialist in strong economic times.

@darkstar4494 , it isn't about Bernie being a weaker opponent. It is about how Trump is the incumbent under a strong economy.

@aretwodeetoo1181 , Bernie has never fought for anyone. Running one's mouth is not fighting. Bernie has never took action to help others. Fact is that things are great under Trump and it will show come election time. It becomes a lot worse when people find out more about Bernie. Right now independents don't know much about Bernie. When they find out his radical thoughts and history they won't vote for him.

@aretwodeetoo1181 , Trump has ran charities and donated a good portion of his money. When a sick Jewish boy in the 80s could not fly due to medical equipment Trump donated his plane to fly the boy to get medical treatment. He donated money to a bus driver who prevented a suicide. They very "sexist" Trump gave the job of building a sky scraper to Barbara Res, making her the first woman to lead the construction of a skyscraper. He has done a lot more than Bernie has. What charities has Bernie ran? What fundraisers has Bernie ran? It is easy to run ones mouth. Bernie becomes famous, sells, a book making millions, and does not donate it.

@aretwodeetoo1181 , how is he not presidential material? He was the owner of many major companies and had to lead and organize that way. Now compare that to Bernie. What leadership experience does he have?

@aretwodeetoo1181 , doesn't matter. It shows Trump has leadership experience, knows how to hire the right people around him, he understands the legal aspect of it, etc. There are a lot of similarities. There is a lot more to a company than making money. One can be the impact on a community such as volunteering and charities for example. Or progressing a society. Bernie wants a command economy where he dictates what people should have as opposed to the people deciding that. That has never worked.

@aretwodeetoo1181 AOC? Really? She is probably going to get primary this year. And no, the defense budget was around 10% of GDP in the 70s and has been steadily dropping for years to being less than 4% now.

@aretwodeetoo1181 , she has betrayed her district. She is going around the nation rallying for Bernie and hardly spends time in her district. Many democrats are running against here pointing that out. Also, she isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.

@kennethmcneil3478 , she is never there. She goes around the country playing the role of a celebrity while people in her district suffer. And yes, FDR did cause the great depression. Again, when was the last time it took over a decade to recover from a recession?

@darkstar4494 , yes, it has been dropping when you look at it in terms of percent of GDP. Meanwhile, Medicare, Medicaid and SS have been going up in spending during that time.

Many people always live paycheck to paycheck due to poor money management. With your other stats there are many variables there. To start, what is their household income? What is their cost of living? What benefits do they have? Consider this, essentially myself and all of my colleagues earn less than $25,000 a year. We are graduate students working on our PhDs and Masters. We are typically in our mid 20s to early 30s. Would you consider us to be in bad shape? The vast majority won't. So you can't just throw numbers out there and expect them to mean anything.

@aretwodeetoo1181 , medicare and medicaid are around 2.5% of GDP spending. Also, how will costs go down under M4A? You are increasing demand.

@darkstar4494 , GDP is the baseline as that is how you can compare all spending equally. And why do you think defense spending is way too high? Medicare and SS going up in spending shows, a lot of times, the inefficiency of those federal programs. They are losing money. And how is the military spending not benefiting Americans? You are giving an arbitrary number saying it should be cut in half. FDR turned a recession into a depression. He came in and doubled down on what Hoover was doing and recovery did not happen until the war. When was the last time it took nearly a decade to recover from a recession? Never. Yes, most congress people are out of town, but how many are like her giving speeches across the nation during her time there? She is giving speeches and going on talk shows. On her being too busy, youtuber Don't Walk, Run! Productions did a video entitled "Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is Way Too Busy!" In which AOC claimed she is too busy to answer questions but has time to go on talk shows. She is acting like a celebrity, not a congress person. How many congress members are doing what she does? Essentially no one. My point on grad students is that just because someone is earning less than some set amount does not mean they are in bad shape. Again, myself and all my colleagues earn less than $25,000 a year. Are we in bad shape?
