+Heads Tails And people in the US think other countries are a joke. It goes both ways.

+Christopher Taveras Those European countries also have smaller populations and overall a different society. They are also in debt as well, some more so than the US.

+Heads Tails Population size is a factor because with smaller populations you have smaller government thus you can see if you money is being spent well. With a government responsible for 300 million people you end up having waste. It isn't as simple as country A has X amount of money and people and thus should pay for B. You have bureaucracy that is involved. If you ever worked with government you will see that.

+Heads Tails I agree that we should go to state rights and have these programs ran by states. The problem is that people want the federal government to do it. Even at the state level bureaucracy is so much that programs lose effectiveness. But it is far better than at the federal level. If you have dealt with government programs you would agree that they are not run well.

+Heads Tails Where to you get that 17,000 reasons?

+Heads Tails I knew you would say something like that. In other countries while you can't say they die due to not being able to afford care, they do die due to low quality of care. The problem with people who support socialized healthcare is that they want the quality of healthcare you get from capitalism but want it for "free", or paid for by others with socialism. You can't have it both ways. The US leads the way in research and development in healthcare and technology. That is one reason why it is so expensive. Due to evolution (hurray science) disease become resistant to drugs thus new drugs are needed. That requires research. If you remove the motivation to develop new drugs then in the future our healthcare will lack quality. You think that the government can just snap their fingers and the healthcare exist. The reality is that is not the case. As is we already lack doctors. Adding more people to the system will increase wait time and lower quality. It is arguable that the US has the best system in the world with the only problem being cost. The high cost is mainly due to actions by the federal government.

+Heads Tails Just because someone has access to care doesn't mean anything. If the care is low in quality problems still exist.

+Heads Tails People die for several reasons, you can't directly tie the 17,000 to healthcare. In European countries they suffer for lack of care. People die because of that. Seems like they have problems as well. Switching from one system with problems to another system with problems does not seem very progressive to me.

+Heads Tails I have looked at the numbers. The US is also number 1 in life expectancy if you remove murder and accidents, things not associated with healthcare. The ACA has raised prices in insurance which has become a burden for people. Also healthcare insurance does not equal healthcare.

Getting rid of child labor laws is not bringing back child labor. We are living in a time where children are not working in factories or mines due to liability reasons. Children are leaving homes later. Allowing children to work at a younger age in certain jobs will improve their chances of success. I love how liberals twist words around to fear monger. Like what Kyle did with child labor or saying this governor wants to take away people's healthcare when he isn't.

+snipervictim Capitalism is not a government entity.

This is what that state wanted. If they don't like him they can vote him out. Unless you live in that state you really can't do much. And where is it that he is taking away healthcare from people?
