The "reasonable" part is what bothers me. The anti-gun crowd is at the point where they call you stupid or violent if you do not support "reasonable" gun laws where they do not define "reasonable". I almost feel like emailing this company to ask them to define "reasonable" and see how they respond.

The problem with the message is the word "reasonable". That is subjective and to some "reasonable" is a gun ban.

DireAvenger001, that is correct. This is why nothing at the federal level is determined by a majority and this is why I get irritated with Kyle and his fans who point to opinion polls as if they mean anything. Most of these issues people know very little about. Not saying they are stupid. Most people do not want to take the time to read up on them and rather do other things, like fish or start a family.

Elise M, reasonable to one person is irrational to another. However, the problem with using phrases like "reasonable" or "common sense" is that you are calling your opponent stupid if they disagree with you, that they are not reasonable. The harsh truth is this, on this issue there is a debate to begin with. So it isn't "common sense" nor "reasonable" when there is a debate. I have my opinion and stance on the issue, but I do not feel they are "reasonable" as there are arguments against them. I have my opinion based on data, facts and ideology that I can argue with. When one says "reasonable" they do not have data or ideology to argue with. They have nothing and thus you can dismiss their arguments immediately.

Elise M, one major issue I have with society is how ignorant they can be to buy into simple catch phrases like "reasonable".

Define "sensible". A major problem on the left is that when they push laws they use words like "sensible" and "reasonable" which are vague. I feel we have enough background checks already. I can say that we already have "sensible" background checks. You would disagree. The word "sensible" is subjective.
2
Brock, the NRA supports background checks. The issue is that arguably we have enough already. How much more do you want?

I agree. My problem with the message is that "reasonable" means a gun ban to some. If we pass some of these "reasonable" laws and more shootings happen, then what? Where is the stopping point? Saying "reasonable" is dangerous as that is subjective.
2
Uh, they support the 1st amendment. Show me where they are wanting to use government force to stop this company from doing this?

I do have a problem with the receipt on two accounts. 1. I do not eat out to listen to politics. 2. Define "reasonable". The second part is where the NRA and gun right supporters like me have a problem. You say "reasonable" is a ban on high capacity magazines but do not set a limit. The problem is that "reasonable" becomes a gun ban.
1
That is the point. You talk to many of them and they support enforcing the laws already on the books. At this point the question becomes where is the stopping point? We have a shooting so you push for more laws. And then another shooting happens so you push for even more laws? Also, gun crime is dropping. Gun murders are dropping. Look at the numbers. You are pushing more laws with no clear stopping point and you call them "reasonable".
1
"What you "feel" is not reality." How so? Also, now the debate begins. At that point this issue is not "reasonable" as there is a debate to begin with.

Notice the difference between how those on the right act compared to the left. Sure, the NRA may have been a drama queen on this issue, but they never use government force to shut the business down.
