In the US people do not want to see their taxes triple. To pay for Bernie's plan you have to triple people's taxes. Ted Cruz brought that up in the debate against Bernie and Bernie himself did not deny it. Even at that Bernie had no real definitive tax plan as it was very vague so many sources, both left and right, and even moderate showed that Bernie's plan will be expensive and will require higher taxes on everyone. In the US our society does not want higher taxes. We are a society that is, for the most part, strongly independent from the government and will hate the major changes (like a major tax increase). Thus they will vote against it, especially considering his plan would not have improved the US at all.

To beat Bernie all you have to do is show the people his tax plan.

Cameron, watch the debate between Cruz and Bernie. Near the end Cruz brought up the numbers and Bernie's response was to criticize Cruz's tax plan.

Even if you were to go with the corporate tax rate you still won't be able to pay for Bernie's plan. That's the point.

Cameron, Bernie never listed his tax plan. He listed things on how he will supposedly pay for it, but it is vague with essentially zero citations. So with that you have to look at cost and current revenue. We are right now running a deficit. And anyone with a brain between their ears will know that Bernie's plan will increase expenses. Even he says that. His main plan is to tax the rich (based on what he says). Right now our current federal budget (never mind state and local), is around 3.8 trillion dollars. The top 10% earned around $6 trillion. So unless you massively increase the taxes on the rich to nearly 100% you won't be able to pay for Bernie's plan without increasing taxes on everyone.

My source is basic math. https://www.statista.com/statistics/216756/us-personal-income/ The top 10% earned around 40% of the income. You can do the math. We are running a deficit right now with our current tax plan and spending. Bernie wants to increase spending, he even admitted to that. So unless we increase taxes our deficit will be higher.

"We can also cut areas of spending such as military." Defense spending makes up less than 20% of our federal budget. We spend more on social welfare programs. Defense spending is less than 4% of our GDP and that has been dropping the past few years. We do cut defense spending but we still have a deficit. In terms of percent GDP we spend more on education than we do defense. Cutting the military is not going to do anything.

Bernie would have lost by a wider margin than Clinton did. All you have to do was show people Bernie's tax plan and he would have been destroyed.
2
"you mean the tax plan that LOWERED taxes on the majority of Americans?" Nowhere did Bernie say he will lower taxes. I read his tax plan and while vague it suggested zero tax cuts. It did suggest tax increases though.

Omair Skeikh, Burlington is around 87% white and has a population of 42,000 people. Yankee Stadium can hold all of Burlington with room to spare. Bernie winning elections in that demographics is not that impressive. Nationwide he would have been stomped.

Kingsley de Jenga, the demographics of Bernie were mainly disgruntle college kids who don't like the fact they are becoming an adult. You win elections with moderates and the moderates would have opposed Bernie by a lot. He would have lost by a larger margin than Clinton did. MI and PA would have voted for Trump and Trump would have won in a landslide if he went up against Bernie. Bernie might of persuade some voters with the trade deals, but with his tax plan he would have lost big time.
