+Chili Mac x I agree with you. People say that the problem is with the free market and capitalism. The reality is that the problem is lack of free market and capitalism mixed in with a for profit system. As slicedGabe said, we have corporatism. Problem is that regressive liberals like Kyle and Bernie Sanders feel we need more government.

Single payer won't fix this. Sorry, but single payer will actually make this worse. If you want to fix this problem then you need to reduce the fed such as get rid of the federal payroll tax.

Other countries get "fucked" as well. The US has arguably the best healthcare system in the world. The issue is that the federal government hinders competition which leads to higher prices. Single payer will make it worse because now you will artificially increase demand.

+miner69erher Nope, there are a lot of stats that show it is arguably the best.

+miner69erher https://www.aei.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/-the-business-of-health_110115929760.pdf There are a lot of stats there. The number one issue in the US is cost, and that is due to the federal government. Adding more government is not going to solve the problem it created. As a whole, though, the US get comparable results with their system meaning other countries have problems as well, or are not any better. The police in the US are locally ran and funded. If you want to talk about a locally ran and funded healthcare system we can, but I don't think that is what you are talking about.

+miner69erher "i didn't mean the police as they currently are, i meant it as a hypothetical where you need to pay them yourself for service." If you want to use the police comparison then I am open for discussing healthcare ran at the state and local level, but not at the federal level. "and i disagree that adding more government won't at least help to solve the problem, " But the federal government always seems to be the problem. They are the common denominator. "good regulation is what's needed" Like what? In a country of 320+ million people that is not a simple answer. That is why healthcare reform was so hard to pass to begin with.

+miner69erher 60 senate democrats could not agree on one type of healthcare reform bill. The democrats had congress and the presidency and still could not agree.
