The main difference is that democrats push these laws at the federal level, republicans do it at the state level.   If a politician wants to pass these laws at the state level it is because that is what those citizens want.  Democrats and republicans at the federal level are not the same as democrats and republicans at the state and local level.

  3. Those are state laws.  That is the difference.  If a state wants to mess themselves up then that is their business.  The federal government shouldn't mess up the entire country.
