This JuanPa guy is an idiot. These people don't see themselves as "temporary embarrassed millionaires". They see themselves as common folks that want to be left alone. When you have the left acting like elitist coming in wanting to raise their taxes on the idea to "help them", that does piss them off. They were not the ones who wanted healthcare reform. They do not want more government. They do not want higher taxes. They perceive their lives to be fine. They have no desire to be millionaires. They want to mind their own business and fuck. This JuanPa guy was clearly a loner in Oklahoma, or a fraud.

Nuance Is Good, so this JuanPa character speaks for every rural person in America? What makes what he says any more legit?

Poor is subjective in some ways. Yes, in rural areas they lack income. But "poor" on an income level in the country is different than "poor" in the city. You can be poor in rural areas and still own a home with a yard. Also, many in rural areas just want to mind their own business. They love their family and friends and community. They know they don't have much and they don't mind. They don't get all jealous like those on the left do.

Where is PragerU wrong? How about you do that, try to point out where they are wrong. It will make you think.

People who say "vote against their best interest" mean "voting against my best interest". Ever thought they know exactly what they are voting for?

Trump won because democrats are too extreme. Working in academics I see many elitists criticize Trump without justification. I recently visited my hometown in the rural midwest and they voted for Trump. Some of their reasons are 1. Nothing got better under Obama 2. They like how he has no care about what people say about 3. He is anti-establishment 4. They are fed up with democrats The idea that Trump is a bigot is false which is a part of point 4. Kyle calls Trump a bigot without justification. Zero policy substance, just name calling. Thus people voted for the guy being called names.

These people are not poor. Being poor is subjective. Many in the rural areas have home. On paper they may be poor, but in life they are not. They own homes, they have loving friends and family. It seems like this guy lacked that living in Oklahoma and is projecting.

"The left hasn't proposed raising taxes on the "common folk" only on top earners. " Not true. Under Obama he raised the payroll tax. And Bernie Sanders admitted he wants to raise taxes on everyone. "To the second half, why do red states take in more money from the federal government than blue states?" That is actually a myth. I will link you an article to that. A couple of reasons are farm subsidizes and the fact that most military personal and veterans are from states like that.

Not true. When you go to the core of the issues the facts side with the right were the emotions side with the left. And I am talking about the absolute core. That is not to say one side is better than the other. We are humans and thus have emotions, but we also need to look at the facts. But take the vast majority of issues and you will see that is so.

Coming from rural Missouri this guy is way off. These people are not poor in their eyes. They also have no desire to be millionaires. They want to mind their own business, that's all. They don't like elitists on the left coming in, calling them stupid and trying to run their lives. These people are rich as they own homes and have loving and caring families. This man most likely lacked that in Oklahoma and is simply projecting at this point. Being from rural MO I have seen people with very little be extremely happy, because they love their community. They love the people around them. They don't have much on paper, but they are not jealous like those on the left are. They are happy. It seems like this guy is just pissed.

W Meito, I lived in that area for over 2 decades. They don't have pain. I live near the west coast now. Those people are miserable with the traffic and living with their parents in their 20s despite earning $80,000 a year.

Matthew, rural Missouri and rural Oklahoma are not that different.

"The point I was trying to make is that both JuanPa and your statements on rural attitudes are strictly anecdotal." I agree, and my experience is different than his. " I think everyone here is putting WAY too much stock in this guy's testimony" I agree. There is a lot to this. Trump did rally hard in those swing states where Clinton didn't.
