@dylanholt9906 ,yep. Kyle does not understand that the estates tax does harm "normal" people.
11
And you ignored the part where the economy is doing much better. It is no secrete what is making the economy better,Trump created the environment for strong economy growth that betters most people. And most Americans support what he is doing.
6
Kyle is really grasping for straws here. What Trump mentioned was good. And the economy is doing much better. Kyle can't handle the fact that Trump is actually successful.
4
@Robert Gomez , the economy is doing great.
4
Kyle displays a lot of hypocrisy here.
4
True. The economy is successful and Bernie is becoming less relevant.
3
@Robert Gomez , most people live paycheck to paycheck because of their poor money management skills. Also, according to the BLS only around 5% of workers work more than one job. You have the intelligence level of economics as AOC does.
3
@claymusicoff5663 , the economy was essentially stagnate until Trump was elected. Since then it has been doing much better.
2
@MrGrass97 , polls are irrelevant as they are vague questions on complex issues being asked to people who don't understand the issues. Also, the debates have not even started yet. Saying he is polling better means nothing. When the debates happen and when the economy is still strong people won't support Bernie. His idea of centralized control economy will not be popular because people will see that Trump's idea of hands off economy is actually working. As for the polls you say are correct in margin of error, to start, do you even know what margin of error is? Next, that time was much closer to the election.
2
Federal paid family leave is not socialism.
2
What will be your excuse when a recession does not happen?
1
@chr900 the federal reserve is raising interest rates. In the past it didn't which is the real reason for the crash
1
Because leftists hate successful people.
1
@GordieKat , but the tax cuts bill wasn't? Also, Kyle supports Bernie who has appeal to emotion phrases like "living wage" because who doesn't support a living wage for all? These word games happen on both sides, Kyle is being a hypocrite here.
1
In wealth many small businesses can be worth that much. In wealth you are talking about assets. Depending on location they can easily be worth over $5.6 million.
1
@Babygirlly555 , true, he pardon 2 black inmates, one of them a woman. How can people call him a sexist or racist now? That speech was great for Trump and is making the democratic party look like fools.
1
@ChrisM-xx6cf , any drug to be tried for "right to try" has to pass phase I still. So you can't just dump sugar in water and sell it for that high.
1
@LinkRocks , two things 1. Trump was not president in the 70s, or 80s, or 90s, or 2000s. He is president now. What happened in the past is not his doing. So why do you bring that up? 2. There are arguments and data that suggests that wages have not been stagnant since the 70s.
1
@claymusicoff5663 , under Trump not only has the unemployment rate has been dropping but worker participation has been stagnant when it was dropping under Obama. That means under Trump not only are more people working more people as also looking for jobs. Under Obama less people were looking for jobs. So you have to factor that in. The GDP was essentially stagnate under Obama. Under Trump the stock market increased a lot. And the Federal Reserve, due to the growing economy, is raising interest rates. Trump, simply by being president, is creating the environment of a strong economy. Investors know that Trump won't attack them where under Obama they felt he would attack them.
1
@Sadhhu , the poverty rate is not 50%. Seriously, where do you get your stats at?
1
@MrGrass97 , there are arguments on both sides on the wage stagnation issue, that is one point. The other point is why is someone blaming Trump for something that happened before he was president?
1
@Avalanche616 , the economy tanked under Reagan?
1
@MrGrass97 , if wages have been stagnant since the 70s why does that matter now? The economy is growing. And wage stagnation is a debatable issue as there is data that suggests wages have not stagnated.
1
@claymusicoff5663 , labor participation rate is the number of people actually working. More people looking for jobs means more productivity and a better society overall. The GDP was essentially stagnate. Less than 3% growth is essentially stagnate.
1
@MrGrass97 " It’s pretty universally accepted among respectable economists that wages have stagnated since the late 70’s. One need only look at the simple productivity/wage chart. " Uh, wages have kept up with productivity. Also, read these papers https://www.nber.org/feldstein/WAGESandPRODUCTIVITY.meetings2008.pdf https://www.dartmouth.edu/~bsacerdo/Sacerdote%2050%20Years%20of%20Growth%20in%20American%20Wages%20Income%20and%20Consumption%20May%202017.pdf Noticed how I gave citations and you haven't? Again, wages have arguably not been stagnate since the 70s. What are you using to say that? CPI? PCE? GDP deflator? Do you adjust for benefits or women and immigrants entering the work force? And again, if wages have been stagnate since the 70s, what does that mean now? The economy is growing now. We had very little, if any growth under Obama. Holland and Sweden are not socialist nations.
1
@ChrisM-xx6cf , exactly.
1
@alonsoarana5307 , how many people actually cared about Bernie's response to the SOTU?
1
@alonsoarana5307 , I live 1500 miles away from my parents.
1
@MrGrass97 , I know what his proposals are. He wants centralized control of the economy. Healthcare and education makes up around 20% of our GDP alone.
1
@SSelkie3 , I back my arguments up all the time, especially with healthcare citing many professors.
1
@sadscientist9995 , a lot of those people don't have health insurance because they don't want to buy it. That 40,000 number has been argued against many times to where the accuracy is very questionable. Katherine Baicker, University of Chicago prof., argued against that number for example. As for people working over 40 hours and are poor, statistically only around 2% of full time workers year round are poor. On student loans, college is an investment.
1
@Robert Gomez , i can say that with honesty. People have poor money management skills.
1
@rynegreen7902 , police are ran locally. Around 70% of fire fighters are volunteer.
1
@MrGrass97 , if you noticed I have not replied in a few hours. Why? Because I had to teach. Also, at times at work I am on my computer processing data or writing, so I can respond quickly to comments that don't take much time to write. You can also noticed that I usually comment on videos related to climate change, economics and healthcare as I know a lot about those issues so it does not take long to write these comments. My hours are also flexible as a researcher because many times my research requires me to work odd hours (like late tonight or on weekends).
1
@MrGrass97 , I do. He wants to centralize healthcare and education. AOC wants to centralize the economy with her Green New Deal. And how do you school my ass? Tell me. On healthcare I am really good at. I literally cite experts in the field.
1
@sadscientist9995 , in every system people lack access to healthcare. Resources are finite. Also, just because they are on Go Fund Me does not mean they can't afford it. How man scams occur on Go Fund Me? Also, will they get treatment with Medicare? There are solid arguments against Medicare. For example, it was so inefficient that it took 40 years for it to cover prescription drugs where health insurance was covering it long before that. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2690175/ Most live paycheck to paycheck due to poor money management. And yes, those who work full time year round are not poor except for 2% of them. Most who are poor work unstable jobs or not at all. And saying "living wage" is not an argument. What is a "living wage"? It is subjective. For example, I earn $23,000 a year, is that enough? https://economics21.org/html/sorry-bernie-few-full-time-workers-live-poverty-2094.html
1
@MrGrass97 , that is a centralized economy. Bernie wants to fund healthcare centrally. Most US regulations are local. The UK is a much smaller nation and Germany has 1/3 of the population than we do and yes, they are centralized in some ways. For example, in Germany they track their students. You say the Nordic model. So you mean no min. wage? Lower corporate taxes? Higher taxes on all citizens? More oil productivity? What model? You can't just say the "Nordic model" and expect it to be an argument.
1
@sadscientist9995 ,healthcare rankings are arbitrary. First, do you even know how that ranking was developed? Also, next, anyone can do a legit analysis on the stats and come up with any ranking they want. Read the books by Scott Atlas on healthcare. He is a prof. from Stanford. Define "decent life". That is subjective. Also, one can be earning the min. wage and be fine depending on their living situation.
1
@MrGrass97 1. He does support a centralized government. He supports expanding the federal government to manage those programs. 2. We can debate if you want. 3. Unions are a part of the free market which I support. Nordic nations, arguably, have a strong free market system when it comes to businesses especially business/employer relationships. They simply tax their citizens more to pay for those programs. In comparison to the US Seattle has a free market with low regulations thus they attract more businesses. That is why they can raise the min. wage so high and not see any problems. But as a whole pushing for unions is arguing for capitalism and the free market. 3. I know you didn't. But why doesn't AOC or Bernie say it? Why do they keep harping on taxing the rich? 4. Venezuela had a centralized control nation like what Bernie wants. No, Bernie and AOC don't support the Nordic nations.
1
@kennethmcneil3478 , how do I get my ass handed to me?
1
@robertpresley1503 , he does.
1
@Shiny Shinx , and a lot of companies and farm land is worth that much.
