If that is the best you have than you are in trouble.

Nope, we need less Noam Chomsky's in the world. They are a part of the problem. A guy with a lot of talent that wasted it.
10
So anyone who votes republican is an idiot to you? How "liberal" of you.
6
@Bill Anderson , he could have spent his life actually presenting people to arguments on both sides of the issues but didn't.

It is more of the fact that the rich pay the vast majority of taxes to begin with. Many pay $0 in federal income taxes. How do you cut from zero? You can't. Just by how the system was set up to begin with any tax cut was mostly going to go to the rich.
3
@BBQcheese , many exists on the right.
2
@tonyolo4591 , how? Voting people in government to ensure government does not abuse their power is one thing people support. So we should vote in politicians that are power hungry?
2
@candacecasey5634 , I don't approve of names like "libtards", but when the left continues to call the right racists and bigots than maybe it is necessary.
2
@clairemcdaniel1253 , in his field he has been productive, I will agree. The problem is that people have given him a voice and he has stated opinions on issues outside of his field without being clear that he is not an expert on them. A sign of intelligence is displaying humility. He doesn't do that. When he discusses political or economic issues he is drastically wrong in many cases. But people take his word as almost gospel because he sounds smart when he says it, and he doesn't outline that he is not an expert. When I have personal discussions with people on issues outside of my field of study (physical chemistry) I admit from the beginning that I am not an expert and that I derive my opinion from certain sources I read. For example, on healthcare. I will give my opinion and reference a book or two I read or a paper. But I will not claim to be an expert as I don't do it for a living and I encourage people to look deeper themselves. Chomsky does not do that. If he can't display humility he needs to stick to his field alone.
1
@clairemcdaniel1253 , there are some people who are experts. If someone does research on a subject I consider them to be an expert. Chomsky hasn't done in depth research on economic issues and most political issues. Not saying that is wrong, most don't as they simply don't have time, including me. But people gave him a platform and take his words as gospel. And then they pull a logical fallacy by saying he is a professor from MIT.
1
@jesseparrish1993 , Chomsky praised Venezuela's economic model before it fell apart when many experts said it would. Chomsky points to vague polls when statisticians admit they are highly flawed. Chomsky confidently talked about the Southern Strategy even though experts argued against it. There are three points off of the top of my head where Chomsky looked foolish.
1
@hmldjr , many. Prof. Scott Atlas, John Schneider, Ben Shapiro, Ben Carson. I can go on. There are experts on both sides.
1
@jesseparrish1993 , who did I call a communist?
1
@hmldjr , how are they not intellectuals?
1
@koukkoufos2000 , really? Most on the right are dumb? That shows how bias you are.
1
@koukkoufos2000 , Noam Chomsky was correct on Venezuela.
1
@koukkoufos2000 , really? You know, East St. Louis isn't that bad either.
1
@koukkoufos2000 , I heard N. Korea is great as well.
1
@koukkoufos2000 , so you think Venezuela is a paradise? I doubt you can ever run any city well. North Korea has the exact system you want, centralized control of everything.
1
@xXRickTrolledXx , what is wrong with what he said?
1
People still listen to this guy?
1
@oldmusic138 , what?
1
So you are calling republican voters stupid? How "liberal" of you.
1
@Michael-lc8yl , most people try their best not to pay taxes. I do with legal write offs. What's your point?
1
@redflag4781 , when you push to ban certain guns that look scary than yes, you are a gun grabber. Why ban the AR15 when the mini ruger 14 exists? They are essentially the same gun. It is because you want to create legal pathways to ban guns.
1
@redflag4781 , there is value. Self protection is one. When seconds count the cops are only minutes away.
1
@tonyolo4591 a better tomorrow can arguably be achieved with less government
1
@tonyolo4591 and to say conservatives don't support progress is a shallow thing to say
1
It is a death tax. You are taxing something that has already been taxed after that person dies. Also, democrats do the same thing with phrases such as "living wage" and saying healthcare is a "right". It goes both ways.
1
And? What's your point?
1
@brothersandsistersofvalhalla , how?
1
@brothersandsistersofvalhalla 1. Other nations are involved in the war as well, including European nations 2. Our healthcare system is on bar with European nations 3. The rich still pay way more. European nations have more of a flat tax 4. What? 5. I agree this is wrong, you have one 6. Like the democrats do? I agree as well
1
@brothersandsistersofvalhalla , not joking. Seeing you don't have an actual rebuttal I will chalk this up as you really don't understand the issues that well.
1
@brothersandsistersofvalhalla , I leave my house everyday.
1
Republicans have gone too far right? How?
1
@bibisatanyahu9396 , "right wing" in Europe support the status quo just like they do in the US. Also, they understand the economics of healthcare and know that completely transforming an economic system that is, at least, 1/10 of a nation economy is not wise.
1
@wmd40 , give me examples.
1
@oldmusic138 , what is the republican platform? It is individual freedom and minor changes to the system. What platform will get republicans laughed off stage in other nations? Also, what makes other nations so much better?
1
@oldmusic138 , being against abortion is the idea that murder is wrong. I don't see that as being radical. Even at that Kavanaugh had a chance to restrict abortion but didn't in the Gee v Planned Parenthood of Gulf Coast and Andersen v Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid Missouri cases. On religion I suggest you look at the Dover v Penn case and how a Bush appointed judge ruled on that. What deregulations? What lower taxes? How are they against universal healthcare? Uh, they still support laws that keep felons from owning guns Why do you insists at looking at other nations with different population sizes, economies, histories, cultures, etc? You do know Trump is the first president to enter office supporting gay marriage? Gay marriage is no longer an issue.
1
@wmd40 , the left is more about control with expansion and centralizing the government. That is how they are radial.
1
@oldmusic138 , one can argue that universal healthcare can be obtained through the private sector with local communities (either government or charities) filling in the gap. You saying that they are opposed to universal healthcare makes you a radical. Trump allows companies to dump toxic waste? What has Trump done to oppress the LBTQ+ community? What? Other nations have issues with their healthcare systems as well. Read the book "In Excellent Health" by Stanford Prof. Scott Atlas on how our healthcare quality in the US is arguably high.
1
@tnk4me4 , Australia has issue with their healthcare system as well.
1
@oldmusic138 , again, you can be for it by supporting limited government.
1
@oldmusic138 , depends. That is a vague question.
