+Pibble_ m0mma The video has a point. The human body and healthcare is a very complex situation. Resources are needed to improve healthcare which will eventually drop down the price.

+Christopher Czimback And those doctors don't earn a dime if research is done or not. They don't care about the research. Ever thought that they only care about selling that product and earning money themselves? "The drug has been around for 60 fucking years so why all of the sudden raise the price by that much? " Because there are problems. We can push to fix them. The human body is complex along with medicine. It is always evolving (science there, I though liberals were the party of science). As the pharm guy said, if a drug you can take once is created and is able to be made in surplus than everyone benefit. That is how the free market works. This guy's company is trying to earn a profit and create new drugs. It is not an easy task. I guess we can stick with this one and in a 100 years when it no longer works we can pray that we stumble upon something else out of pure luck, or have people die.

+Devin Little You can't improve something without resources. The drug was not generating any profits. Cough syrup, pain killers and sleep aid are drugs that come in different forms and are really well established. This drug isn't. Yes it has been around for decades but with no improvements and people have died from it. There is room for improvement. The body is always changing and evolving, we should be pushing for improvements.

If we had more government a drug like this will never be created. There would not be an incentive to create such a drug. In healthcare the human body and medicine is very complex. Bacteria and even viruses evolve and new diseases come and go. Just setting on one drug is not wise so gaining resources to improve current drugs is key. This is just pure science. I guess we can stick with the drugs we have and not care, or we can find a way to invest and improve. Over time, in a free market goods and services get better and drop in price.
